Hi all,

well i've finally had enough of BT's prices for calls.
I've decided to get myself a Orchid dialler, keep BT for line rental, and use Primus Saver Option 2 and 18185 for the calls i make using the latest 'Heinz' program.

I have a couple of queries though:

1) I've heard you can swith to Primus Saver Option 2 via the Quidco website, and thus recieve cashback. If i do it this way they wont change my line rental from BT will they?

2) Also, i have BT's caller display, which Orchid dialler will i need? I dont have a mains socket near my BT master socket, will i get away with using a Orchid V4 dialler (instead of a V+) and still be able to use BT caller display??

Many thanks for any help!

Yes, you can get £16 cashback by going to the Uswitch website via Quidco. However, it is not easy to make Primus Saver Option 2 come up on Uswitch. It used to be possible to do so by being 'creative' towards the end of the process (see HERE). However, I can't get that to work now myself. In any case, it's a lot of hassle for £16!

As far as I remember, the Uswitch offering specifically stated 'BT line rental required' - but I'm sure you'll look for that if you manage to get it to come up.

With regard to Orchid(s), you need one per telephone socket in use. If that main socket is the only one you'll be using, a V4 (which is powered by the telephone line's voltage) will be adequate.
