See Tickets
Just wondering if anyone has used See Tickets (seetickets.com) before and if it's a reliable site for gig tickets?
Seems to have better seats than TicketMaster... |

See Tickets are reliable, they're owned by Andrew Lloyd Webber. They do sometimes have better seats than Ticketmaster - it all depends on which venue you're booking for, as they would have the main contract to sell tickets for that particular venue. TM may have better seats for other venues.

I've used them once and they were very good.
Watch out for the delivery though, I've heard if you miss the courier on the arranged day they go all the way back to seetickets and have to be re-scheduled for delivery as it's not done through Royal Mail/Parcel force. |

Not only are they a good site but they don't charge any fees. I bought two tickets for Joseph and printed them off from the website, so no postage and no fee!
Of course Joseph is a Really Useful Group show in a RUG theatre - I don't know if it makes any difference if it is a different company. |

SeeTickets is the official outlet for all RUG theatres/productions, and they dont charge booking fees, however for non RUG productions, they usually do charge booking fees but it depends on the productions (be it theatre, concerts etc ie if you get tickets for mary poppins through them they charge a fee, same with frank skinner etc) howver i have found that 90% of the time the booking/postage fees are cheaper than ticketmaster and other agents |

I have never had any problems ordering tickets from them, but as posted earlier the same cannot be said for the courier company they use! This is only if you've ordered general admission tickets btw-if you've got seats they generally mail them out to you through normal post.
If you miss the courier and have to arrange a redelivery all they say is 'we deliver between 8am and 6pm'. And you have to contact them before 1pm (I think it is) on the day of the original missed delivery if you want to rebook it for the next day. In one instance I got home from work and found the card so rebooked it for my day off work that week, which was also a day on which I had an evening appointment. Waited in all day, didn't even go out to get a newspaper or anything,by 4.30 they still hadn't been so I rang them up and explained I had an evening appointment and had to leave the house no later than 6.30. "Oh he should be with you well before then he's not far away". 6.15 still no sign so I rang again,"Oh if you can just hold on another half an hour or so". I said no I couldn't,told them to cancel and asked for a redelivery two days later. They turned up at 8.15! Why the f**k couldn't they have done that on the day of the first redelivery attempt? Also they say a signature and id is required but on one occasion I watched as the guy got out of the car, came down my path and put them straight through the letter box without knocking! If you're not going to be at home you can have the redelivery made to an alternative address such as your work,in another instance I had to do so,explained to security what was going on and asked to be called so I could come and sign. Midway through my shift my manager came up with the envelope. The guy had just got security to sign, obviously without asking/checking for any id,and security had then given the envelope to my manager to pass on to me. |

The guy had just got security to sign, obviously without asking/checking for any id,and security had then given the envelope to my manager to pass on to me. I had some tickets delivered to my house once and when I got home there was a card in my porch (which was locked) saying the courier had tried to deliver the tickets but there was nobody in to sign for them (I was at work, obviously). I called to arrange a redelivery and was offered two days later and was told that they would be delivered "between 8AM and 6PM". I was actually working from home that morning so I asked if they could book me in for the morning as I would be in and they refused, saying they only did "all day" appointments. Rubbish! They also have a very odd policy where on redelivery they are supposed to ask for ID (even though they have never asked for this in my experience). I once asked them to deliver tickets to my office and said that I wouldn't be available to receive them myself but that our receptionist would sign for them. I was told that I would have to leave my passport with our receptionist so that she could confirm my ID to the courier, which is absolute nonsense when you think about it as how could she confirm my ID by showing a passport with my picture on it? Bizarre. These days I use Ticketmaster. Never a problem, and they have loads of delivery options including courier (requires signature), first class (no signature), and even an email ticket option where they send an email with a barcode on it, and you take it to the venue as your ticket. Why See Tickets cannot do this is beyond me. |
