So I ported my number out from vodafone to o2. So far I am not impressed and today (after just 48 hours) I requested my pac code to go back to vodafone.

Reasons:

1) Annoying balance after call alert (even if balance hasnt gone down)

2) Lack of signal in key areas

3) Applied a bolt on which may take up to 48 hours to apply!

So I am going back to vodafone. Whilst the 300 free texts are attractive and customer service is fine, the overall design and way things work are not for me. I use my phone for business and cant be waiting 48 hours for bolt ons to be applied while in the meantime I am at standard call rate

I'm not a big fan of o2. I ported in in the past, and they had my number disconnected for 28 hours before it actually transferred. Then during the week there was two evenings with problematic service, so I also ported out very quickly.

You can request they turn off the balance alert service.

You cannot easily get them to improve coverage.

And their network can take a while to add services, so do some other networks though.

If you’re using your phone for business, generally being on prepay is not a brilliant idea in my opinion. It does depend on your usage of course. I find customer services are much better and features available much better on a pay monthly plan.

I’m with Vodafone at the moment, rather like their network.

So instead, you have to wait 5 working days to get the number moved back, as opposed to a 48 hour wait for a bolt on... right.

Was with vodafone for 4 years without any issues. Changed to o2 because of the 300 "free" texts. Big mistake. Waiting 48 hours for a bolt on is not acceptable and not very efficient either!!!!

Why couldn't you just wait? Instead, you're stuck with O2 for five days at least, while you get your number moved back. In two days the bolt on will have been applied.

You are maybe missing the point. I will always have to wait 48 hours for ANY bolt on to be applied, which is unacceptable. Its fine if you are just using your phone to text your girlfriend or call your mum, but I use it for business calls, alot of which are X-network.

Will be going back to vodafone as their equivelent of bolt ons are applied immediately!

Yeah, that's how long it takes to start it at first. But then further down the line, e.g. next month, the bolt on will just renew itself automatically as long as you have the credit to pay for it.

I just can't understand why you're doing this when you've got to wait 5 days to port back out!

Yeah but 5 days is better than 5 weeks with o2. I know you are a big fan but I really am not!

Oh and no delivery reports on texts either!
(unless you type *0# before every text!!!)

You say you moved to get free texts but you don't text much and mostly make cross net calls. Weird logic all round. Wouldn't it have made more sense to go to a tariff/operator with cheap cross net calls.
And why so theatrical? It's not the end of the world. Just do your homework before making a change next time.

I'm not a "big fan" at all. I'm not even with O2, I'm with Orange because they are better!

I miss the balance alerts though, so I'm going back to O2 for that, and family are complaining it costs them too much to ring me on Orange.

Half of the stuff you say doesn't add up, it seems you've gone into something without looking into it first.

I agree, You should have done more investigating into it before the change over, Even asked on here, Searched through network sites, Tariffs, packs 'boltons' and so on, Free allowances.

I was aware of the tarrifs, I wasnt aware it would take 48 hours to apply a bolt on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wasnt aware a network could be so slow and inefficient!!!!

I really dont see why your kicking up such a fuss as others have said by the time your number is ported back your bolt on would've been applied anyway then next month (again as someone said) it will renew itself so long as your in credit. They even text you before hand giving you time to top up if you need to.

I've switched my PAYG service from Orange to O2. I find it much better. Better coverage and so far CS have been very quick and helpful, not like Orange.

The balance thing was annoying at first but easy enough to stop.

I'm finding it very hard to understand why you are making such a big deal of this. You moved to O2 and didn't like it so you are moving back. No one conned you, no-one failed to do what you ask them.

Yes last year I moved from Orange to O2 and was not happy to see that I had lost the delivery reports and another thing that Orange does but not O2 is telling me if I got a missed call with no voicemail when the phone was switched off. Now my contract is up and I am thinking about going back to Orange.
