Hi I ordered from there on Monday night and I'm expecting delivery of my goods on Friday.

I ordered a camera from them a good three years ago and the service was spot on. I think they are French. so just make sure you pick the British models. (the model numbers are usually slightly different) http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/5498...-regza-tv.html
http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/5425...cd-televi.html Spot the difference

Had I bought my recent purchase of a Toshiba LCD and Sony Home Theatre System from Comet (High Street) along with the TV Stand it would have cost in excess of £1200. I got the lot for £846.

(I did get my stand from Laskys though, as they were cheaper than Pixmania)

If you do buy anything from them make sure you go through the Quidco Website. You will get 4% cashback on your purchase.

They have different delivery methods depending on the size of the product.

They use Parcelforce for smaller items, and (this will make you chuckle)...

Larger Items such as TV's are delivered by Currys! Takes 3-4 days and you can pick four hour timeslots to suit you.

In London they have a Pickup point (must be a bit like Empire)

Don't Forget Quidco.... Probably get you a free takeaway for in front of your new TV

Yep, agree with dreamypuma - make sure it is either for the UK and/or that the warranty is valid here.

Chose the EXPENSIVE delivery option (UPS?) - do not chose ParcelForce24 - since the LCD will be coming from France, and in transit will be thrown around a bit! I suspect my LCD TV got into its faulty state like this (and I had to return it)... It should take 2-3 days depending where you are...

I don't think the TV's come from France unless its a French model. Curry's deliver them (unless it was a long time ago or was a small TV), so I would suspect that it comes from the DSG Stock...

Been on the site but not sure how it works?
First register with the site, and select how you want to collect your cashback. You can choose BACS or Paypal and set a minimum payout.

Once you have registered, login to the site and search for pixmania in the search bar at the top of the page.

This will take you to a page telling you what rate of cashback Pixmania are offering.

Whilst logged in to Quidco follow the link to Pixmania's website from Quidco. (Do not go there yourself, only through the link on Quidco and only whilst logged into Quidco)

Make your purchase as normal through the Pixmania website. (keeping the Quidco Website open in the background)
Once finished log out of Pixmania website and log out of Quidco website.

Job done.

Check Quidco the following day by logging in and going to earnings at the top of the page. You will notice that on the earnings page it will tell you how much you have spent with Pixmania and the cashback you will earn. Quidco will then track your purchase unit the caskback is validated by Pixmania and payed to your account.

There are hundreds of website you can use Quidco on. They charge £5 a year for admin, however this is deducted from your first earnt cash back a year. The remaining amount is all yours.

I've earned £176 this year to date. and get £75 for my home insurance from Prudential. (some just offer lump sums rather than a %)

The only thing is it probably takes a few months for the cashback to filter through to you.

If your after HDMI cables, Play.com have got some 1.2m professional gold plated ones for £9.99. Again you can get cash back on these too.

I'm not to good with explaining things so Martin Lewis probably explains it better here:http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/sho...hback-websites

By the way this is not a con or anything. It's totally legit. Just a different way of getting a discount.

Before you make your purchase make sure you clear your cookies and history on your browser. I would also suggest you switch off any spyware apps you have running as Quidco tracks your purchase using cookies. To be extra Sure I also use Internet Explorer rather than Firefox for Quidco purchases.

Some stuff does come from France though.

I ordered a Lumix FZ7 camera last year, and paid extra for express delivery so that it would arrive before a Bank Holiday....it didn't. It wasn't even dispatched until the day after it should have arrived! I cancelled it on a Saturday morning and ordered from Amazon.co.uk instead.

The pixmania camera was already en route from France, and I was advised by them to refuse delivery. The Amazon order arrived one hour before the pixmania one, even though it was ordered five days later.

On that basis, I shall never purchase from pixmania again.

The items does not have to be French - models can be issued 'EU' wide... Pixmania sell LOTS of items at LOW cost... they also operate from abroad (some advantages in doing this... to do UK restrictions and standards, etc). You have to be careful about what you are buying from them...

Not sure I would have Pixmania as my first port of call. Just put 'pixmania complaints' in Google.

Here is just one thread from another forum on them.

Just so that if in anyone is in doubt as to whether or not to use Pixmainia, I received my TV and Home Cinema System yesterday from them.

The Goods arrived on time and as promised. The 37" LCD was delivered by Currys, in a Currys / Mastercare branded van.

The Home Cinema was delivered by Parcelforce.

The TV arrived with a standard three pin UK plug but the Home Cimema arrived with two pin and an adapter.

I'm really not bothered about the plug as it took me about 2mins to chop it off and replace with a standard three pin.

I'm very happy with my purchase, and considering I have saved almost £300 compared to buying the goods from Currys or Comet, I'm not going to complain.

It's not for everyone, but the savings are there and Pixmania do what they say on the box. This is the second time I have used them and I haven't had an issue.

If I had to pick one gripe it would be that the Parcelforce deliveries can't be tracked until they hit mainland UK. This said I didn't loose any sleep over this.

I'm pleased to learn that your pixmania purchase went to plan. Their prices are often hard to beat, and I had good service from them on two previous occasions prior to my final bad experience.

Regarding your first post in this thread:

I guess you went for the slightly more expensive model, which includes an integrated digital tuner, but that is still a very good price for a 37 inch LCD TV.

Regarding the warranty on these products, if supplied from France, are you entitled to the often longer warranty period provided in continental Europe?

For example; if you purchased this product from pixmania, Samsung France provides 24 months warranty, as shown here
Whereas Samsung UK and Ireland only provide 12 months. Although I am not sure what period Toshiba covers their products for in Europe.

It makes you wonder whether the UK is in Europe or not, doesn't it?

I bought the UK Spec model, It was more money but has the integrated DTV.

As far as waranties go I think I only got the one year. Your quite right in what you say, We're europeans when it suits the manufacturers.
