Hi there

I am with BT and since 18/7/07 I have been trying to get them to cancel my free 1571 answer service (I've got a new phone with answer machine) and also cancelling my own number withheld service (I'm ex directory) - which is also free.

I have rung three times and each time am told that both services are no longer on my account - I have checked this online and it's correct that neither is showing on my account.

However both services are still activated on my phone. It seems like BT now has it's call centres in India for land line phones as well as the internet. In the past I have had nothing but frustration and trouble with Indian call centres specifically in relation to internet services as nobody seems to know anything in depth - they just press buttons or send you on wild goose chases to get you off the line.

I have never had a problem in the past connecting or de-activating call features - and these have always been done within 24 hours.

I have tried email and have got the normal platitude "this has been activated - please let us know if you have any further problems" - I email that I have **still** got problems - no reply!

Does anybody know how I can get through to somebody at BT who knows what they're talking about - preferably in England.

Thanks in advance

All BT's call centres are not based in India!

You can log onto www.bt.com to cease/order services on your line here:

If you call from your BT landline 150 and selecting the relevant option.

Phone 151 and speak to the faults department.

The issue needs to be raised as a fault, as it already shows as ceased on the rental side, and passed to the OMC.

Many thanks for that Timboy - have rung 151 and had both services cancelled as I was on the phone.
