Hi again
I received a Sony 870 last week...
If Sound and vision will exchange it what model would be the best to go for... I am not looking for a cheap replacement but would be willing to pay to get the quality of operating system that I was used to.
The Sony 510 had the facility to edit on the HDD using a very safe playlist feauture.
I would like to at least get a Sony that did this again.
The problem my 870 has is with recording chapter marks....
The last straw was when it recorded a 30 min program this afternoon from digital TV and put a number of chapter markers in. Then the following 30 min episode of the same program it didn't put any markers in (except for start and finish).
This isn't the only chapter problem I have experienced with it.
Is there a more friendlier to use Sony? that costs more than the £222 I paid for this one.
I won't go into all the poor GUI things here that I have noticed.... eg Menu boxes positioned across the screen about third way down right over peoples faces.... or even taking up 90% of the screen that you can barely see thru to set A to B positions.
The 510 had a line at the bottom of the screen that would give you info... much more sensible.
Why has Sony completely re-designed things and not for the better?
Any suggestions... they are so different in operating I might as well consider another companies ie panasonic etc.
Thanks for any advice/suggestions.
