I'll spell out what i need and want.
I would appreciate advice.
I want a new tv.
It must be Panasonic.
It cannot be above 26" screen.
It must have a black facia.
It must be future safe.
Now i know people are going to come on here and say check out this and that site.
What i really want is people who have had experience of the criteria i've asked for.
THANKS.

TX26LMD70. Great tv, good price at high st shop about £599-649 with 5 yr cover foc. Online cheeper if you want to go that way.
idtv, hd ready, 2 hdmi, 2 scart, camcorder connections and cam slot for setanta/top-up.
There is a 26lxd7 available bu the spec are much lower and the pic is nowhere near the same quality.

Future proof until August 07 then

Is there a reason it has to be a Panasonic? You have severely limited your choice by excluded other makes.

LXD70 – 2 x HDMI, 2 x Scart, 1 x PC input, IPS Alpha panel (8500:1 contrast), 100Hz motion Picture pro (double speed response)

LXD700 (not sure if avail at 26"???) – 3 x HDMI, 2 x Scart, 1 x PC input, SD card slot, Digital Optical Out, IPS Alpha panel (8500:1 contrast), 100HZ motion picture pro (double speed response), Smart Sound Speaker System, Multi Window Options (PIP, PAP, PAT)

Taken from http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=545500 , which although focuses on the 32" versions should still be mostly relevant.

Just to clarify.
We went into a local branch of a national retailer.
Point 1. The child who tried to assist us, had less idea about the product than i did.
Point 2. Picture this, 2 panasonic tv's side by side, one with silver trim priced at 899.99, the black not priced but after inqueries quoted 699.00. Was then told because he knew for sure, that the only reason between the two prices was because 1 had a silver trim.
Point 3. I didn't buy from there.
Point 4. Even the better half realised we were being given a load of rubbish.
Point 5. The look on the salespersons face when he was told he was talking rubbish was classical.
Point 6. I really hope the company involved (it's related to vindaloo or korma) are taking notice of this. Because 3 other couples followed us to our point of purchase and purchased products approximate value £2000.
Point 7. i'm very happy thanks very much.
