DVD question
I recently bought a DVD (my first). In the DVD set up there is something that has confused me. In setting DVD Out it gives you to options:
1/ RGB - Sends RGB signal to the AV Jack (SCART terminal). 2/ Video - Sends COMPOSITE VIDEO signal to AV Jack (SCART terminal). The above is from the Samsung Instruction Manual. I have the DVD, Sky Digibox and TV all connected by SCART, an ordinary straight forward connection. That being the case which one of the above should my DVD Out be set to. Advice would be much appreciated. |

You will achieve the best picture possible from your dvd player if you set it to RGB. However, the scart from the dvd player then needs to be connected to your tv's RGB scart, usually the first one. If your tv doesn't decode RGB you will have to use the second option.

as mentioned RGB is by far the best option and if you really want to appreciate the quality of DVD you definately want to be using RGB and not composite
anyway there is no reason why you shouldnt be able to use RGB just about all TVs made in the last 6-7 years will support RGB some even older ones do. If your TV has more than one scart socket you may have to try the scart in each socket to find out which one support RGB as its usually only available on one scart socket or refer to your TV manual |
