sending texts through landline

Is there a cheap way to send texts through a landline phone ?

So, if I've understood that correctly, if you have a BT land line and then register with 1899, you can then call
anyone with a BT / talktalk land line free of charge ?, is that so? it seem unbelievable, that's why I ask. Surely I've misunderstood the ad.

True, but.

Prices are in pence per minute. Calls are billed per minute rounded to the nearest penny, include VAT and are subject to change. 1899 calls are subject to a 4p connection fee, calls within the UK via 1899 are subjected to a 5p connection fee

Thanks but that is sending text through the internet and not through a landline. I believe BT give a text allowance but the package is to expensive.

It's zero pence per minute but a 5p connection fee.

Sister site 18185, the same, however calls to UK mobiles are 3p/min weekends and 6p/min weekdays.

It is indeed sending via the internet, still 1p per text is pretty good.

Your not going to get much of a discount other than what you can find, as they all re-sell the BT Text service, even the cable service runs on the BT service.
