Last week I rang at *5* different times during a day/evening to speak to BT sales about a new line. Each time I'd be put in a queue, informed they were very busy, and after 5 minutes of listening to their holding music (or lack of, it's just a ring-ring) I hung up.

Tried 5 times.. no joy.

Rang today to try and chase the order I placed online, again, queue, again, no one to speak to.

Amazing. If a company can't even answer it's sales line.. god help anyone who needs support.

I had the same problem with BT too. I tried to call them 4 times and was hanging on for over one hour a time. I the spoke to somebody in Warrington, they said they would cancel the line for me, but you guessed it, the line is still on!! I tried again, but over an hour so gave up.

I even sent them a message to complain twice, still heard nothing!!

Yeah it's very disturbing isn't it? I've ordered a new line but at this point I've no clue whats going on. The message after I placed the order said expect a call from an engineer within 3 days, but I fear if the call doesn't arrive (today is the 3rd working day) I've no chance of speaking to anyone at BT to ask whats going on!!

How can they get away with such poor service?

I received a bill & then 2 days later I received the red bill, tried to make a complaint & I was passed from department to department [& given complaint phone #'s that weren't relevant] being finally told that this isn't a complaint as this is their procedure to send final bill so soon!

I then tried to contact them to cancel Broadband, again I was passed from department to department, being on the phone 3 hours 25mins in total.
I asked to speak to a manager who took all my concerns on board.
I cancelled all services with BT, their customer service is so appalling.
I am now with Toucan, you pay them the line rental, all UK call centres, the handover was yesterday, the communication has been excellent & they have done the handover without any mistakes.
BT told me that BT were the cheapest for Broadband after I said that I wanted to downgrade informing me that I was tied into another 12 month contract & that all companies tie you into a contract, with Toucan you have the option.
