Genuine question - What's the point of this thread?

That is a bit strange that Saggers was at the Reebok yesterday. Anyway it looks like 5Live will carry all 5:15 KO's with Alan Green doing 606 live from the ground afterwards. Last year only games involving the big 4 were on 5Live at 5:15, the rest were on Sports Extra

Magic 1152 (Piccadilly) is doing full commentary on every Manchester City game again this season.

Hugh Ferris and Andy Hinchcliffe are the commentators.

They have the edge on Radio Manchester in that they rarely, if ever, do reports from other grounds so the commentary is uninterrupted.

What is the point of any thread? I couldn't give a f*ck wher Tony Blackburn is working these days so therefore I don't go on that thread for example! It's for fans, commentators move round, tis nice to know who's doing what and where

Whatever happened to Brian Clarke?

He did Stockport County reports on Radio Manchester last season, not sure whether he's back this year.

I think he also does a bit of Rugby League reporting for them (?)

While on the subject of old Piccadilly Radio stuff:

Does anyone know where I might be able to get a recording of the old "It's a goal" and "Oh no" jingles that Piccadilly played in the days before match commentary?

Most local UTV Radio station have dropped live football coverage in favour of music now so there have been some casualities but it seems one, at least, is now working for talkSPORT

Great that TS have Prem footy - just wish it was the excellent Jim Proudfoot instead of the so-so commentary of Nigel Pearson.

4-4-2, thank you for that information. When I saw the name Simon Humphreys at the weekend, I recognised the name but could not remember from whence he came.

Tom Miller used to be over at Radio Forth but I haven't seem him mentioned there for a couple of seasons. I am surprised that Archie MacPherson wasn't used at Ibrox last night.

I assume that Peter Martin is with Celtic today.

Yes Peter Martin is in Moscow for today's commentary. Tom Miller has been on Talk 107 for the last 18 Months but seems to have replaced Dave galloway as Clyde's No 2 commentator ( although Clyde do not have on air commentary rights they provide Rangers commentaries for the Rangers website)

Out of interest, do the reporters who are covering games in Prague, Moscow etc actually travel there, or are they reporting from a screen in the studio ?

BBC Radio Cumbria are providing full, exclusive commentary on Carlisle United - home and away - with the incomparable Derek Lacey.

CFM are providing updates every 20 minutes (though if Carlisle go up, what's the betting CFM start taking commentaries? I'm not cynical, but... )

I thought Talksport did a good job on their "debut" last week and I wouldn't bet against them doubling their games when the next rights contract is up for renewal in 2010.

Thank you, John Hastings, for the Cumbrian information. Is Colin Seal still reporting Gretna for CFM. Who is reporting Carlisle?

We need a few more Local Radio information, methinks.

If you want a full roundup of all the sport, NE1fm (Newcastle community station) has a fantastic show, Rob Pears' SportsZone. I listened in amazement this afternoon at such a professional and content packed sports show! He's on Saturdays from 2pm. 102.5fm or www.ne1fm.com
