Ignoring the obvious prejudice displayed and returnig to the original point:

I do not think ofr one second that in selecting candidates for Big brother they tried to get a representative sample based on size and weight at all. I woudl imagine they were trying to get an interesting mix of personalities that would develop over time.

What reason woudl there be in selecting people due to weight ot size?

I don't doubt for a second that the producers will ensure that there is some eye candy in the house. The target audience does include 14 year olds after all. However I wouldn't believe that looks would ever be enough to get you in or out.

They will have a token system. Who wants to see 12 similar people in the house anyway.

How amusing that i read this thread just as Gos and cameron are (yet again) the ones on the pedalo. Darn them for just sitting there on their back sides yet again

There are a number of ingredients that make shows such as BB work and one of them is not to have more than one obese person in the house at any one time – by doing so you are allowing people that are sedentary in their normal life to be so in the house by congregating with other obese housemates. The result is that it stifles movement which in turn stifles conversation (the bumble-bee effect.. conversation pollination) .. Gos and Cameron move very little (burn few calories in line with their body shape) and therefore create few interesting BB moments..

. As for myself being to blame for being fat. Apart from people who have valid medical reasons for being fat, you are absolutely right.”

The reasons for anyone being anythign tho can be said to be "their own fault" - we coudl say peoel have cancer cos they didnt eat enough fruit or whatever.

The reasons are irrelevant and don't give anyone the right to be prejudiced or to have to put up with what you are very gallantly puting up with.

That is utter rubbish !
Even people who are clinically obese can lead very much active lives.
Whoever you are Amnesia, you sure need to read some books on homeostasis of the human metabolism systems.

Anyone that enters a reality tv-show knows full well that *every* aspect of their life is going to be scrutinised. Those who are extremely obese like Gos are going to have the *iss taken out of them.. we all laugh at fat people (secretly or otherwise), its funny.. just look at big-bald barry-evans from Eastenders, the proverbial fatty whose character is designed to be laughed at. That’s what we do to fat people (Laurel & Hardy) ..

Your not telling me that you haven’t passed a McDonalds and glanced at those obese people who come out with their big arses carrying double cheeseburgers and shake, pants rubbing, clothes not fitting properly and then wondering why on earth they can’t be like the people on TV, etc. Just imagine a fat person undressed, it’s not a nice thought is it? This is why the government is doing everything in its power to get the nation slimmed down.. and maybe, just maybe BB4 will demonstrate to the teenagers just why its not wise to get fat.

Umm... there is only 1 person who could possibly be defined as obese so that goes with your little line about ingredients that you pulled from nowhere and hadn't mentioned previously, so that means you have no argument as you just qualified the single 'obese' person in the house. So shurrup and get back to whatever it is you should be doing. I know I am...

Could I just point out that Gos is a chef and Cameron is ( I think) a pig farmer or similar.
Chefs spend many hours a day on their feet and are extremely active rushing round the kitchen and I would imagine that pig farmers aren't likely to be sitting around with their feet up either....

I can't comment on Justine as all I know is that she is a sales manager but she also seems perfectly active to me.

Working in research and trends I am well aware of the problem with fat and obesity in this country (and the rest of the world) however this does not give anyone permission to insult others whatever their weight is and decide for them whether they are active enough or an "acceptable weight" to appear on a programme - people like amnesia make the situation worse by tormenting people who may not be stick thin and driving them to eat more due to misery...

Each to their own and as long as someone is happy then fine by me.

(i do try to use shorter words , since i am lousy typist) But i try to look at things from a scientific - the FActual perspective at all times.

As many will now realise, i am on the offensive against Cameron, but hey, i'll sure fly his flag in defence of such inaccurate statements as saying he is fat.

Clearly Amnesia lacks even a basic understanding of GCSE standard -human biology, and the automatic regulatory systems.

Science... its the only way to be sure.

Hmm, laural and hardy - 2 of the all time greats of cinema.
Have you ever seen them, cause one of them is not fat either ! Stan Laurel was quite the slim one.

Clearly Amnesia, you are on some crusade to make larger people feel bad. Which is sad. There are more important things to deal with first.

Hmm. I don't want to feed the troll, but...

I was quite disappointed to see Graham Norton picking on Gos for his weight last night. I knew Norton would pick on some of the housemates... it's pretty much the only reason for watching his lame show. But of all the things he could have joked about, I was disappointed that he went for "fat" jokes about Gos. It was lame and uninspired. And kind of cruel. At least he could have done Tania he/she jokes!

But back to Trolly McTroll...

Gos is the only fat person in the house! Cameron is certainly not fat at all, and I have no idea why you would consider his body type "fat". That's crazy. He's a slightly chunky slim guy.

Justine isn't as slim as the other girls, but you know what? She's damn HOT. I'm really attracted to Justine, and her "padded" body is quite a turn-on for me.

I believe that obese people should not be allowed in BB because it sets a bad example and lowers the tone of the show ”

I'm still assuming these posts are a windup because they're too idiotic to be taken seriously, but playing along, BB should also ban smokers, overly thin contestants, and housemates who drink too much -- all of whom set shamefully bad examples for us all and lead us down the road to perdition.

I'm sure there are other categories I'm forgetting?

Seems more like a crusade to be as offensive as possible.....It's bad enough that people vote on accounts of looks it gets worse when you have to put up with this sort of prejudice.......

Are you really that socially retarded...I hope you're making this up...but then I would be seriously worried about someone who could make that up and be that naieve...

So Gos is fat - he seems to be the main fall guy for all this - so what about him???

Well...he's a bloody chef - anyone evr actually been in a kitchen - I know I have and I know even in a not so busy kitchen these people are on their feet all day long!!!

If he's so lazy how can he cook for 12 hours stood up...so he's a big fella - chunky, large, fat - whatever you wanna call it...you can tell that by just looking at him...

The rest though is a load of total bollocks and you should be feckin ashamed of yourself for even thinking it...

* alert * spiz agreeing with pippy

I've not spent much time in restaurant kitchens, but have done work in a ship's galley, and not only are you up on your feet for hours, it's hotter than a badger's backside in there (there is a better analogy but I can't think of one). You need stamina to be able to survive in there...
