Sorry to butt in, this is a long thread so I don't have time to see if this has already been posted, but I found it very interesting. It's an animated progression of the ISS since 1998.

Clearly I am an idiot....edited to add the link!

Thank you Henry - I haven't had access to computer for a long time, I will be so happy to go and watch the ISS again, you're great for keeping us all posted about this. I watched Atlantis return home for the last time, and was SO upset!!

I saw the ISS for the first time last night at 10:17pm near Manchester, very bright and fast.

Well it goes through a line from Bristol to London and the weather is excellent.

Too cloudy tonight.

Shame as it appeared to be the highest and brightest I'd have seen yet.

Still, I managed to catch Wednesday night's pass and it was absolutely perfect.

Programme about the building of a research centre in the International Space Station

This morning's edition of "Building the Biggest" - a programme shown on the Quest Channel - is about the building of a research centre in the International Space Station.

It is being broadcast now (12 am to 1 am on 20.8.2011).

Quest can be received on Sky 154, Virgin 179 and Freeview 38.

What a pity you missed it. However, I think I am right in writing that it has been shown before on the Quest channel and might be broadcast again (on Quest) before the end of the year or soon after. If I see the programmed listed in the television guide I will post to this thread with details.

I went to draw the bedroom curtains Tuesday after Holby and there it was passing right over head a very bright and long pass. It's great when you're not expecting it and it appears from beyond the broken clouds

Just been watching my recording of last nights Sky at night. Towards the end they had an article about viewing the iss passes. Could be worth watching the repeats/i player if you are interested.

Damn, I missed Rosat, that doomed satellite which was due to pass at 18:30 tonight. Only one more chance to see that now.
