Cleaning an LCD screen
Finally got around to purchasing my Sony KDL-40W2000
It arrived yesterday and I am very pleased with what I have seen of it so far. What I wanted to know is what's the best thing to use to clean the screen ? |

best bet in my opinion is avoid having to clean it !!!!! , apart from that i use a microfibre cloth and if really necessary a little bit of isopropyl alcohol

Best way in my opinion to clean an LCD screen is with 2 microfibre cloth's..
Wet and ring-out one and gently clean the screen from side to side (make sure that it is very well rang-out) then hang up to dry. Then use the dry microfibre cloth to dry the screen and surround.. This works very well on my Samsung LE40M86DB and if you have ever seen one of these TV's you will know how much of a dust magnet it can be..! |

However, one important thing to remember is that even with the odd greasy fingerprints (courtesy of my 3yr old daughter) press lightly and let the cloth and the tiny amount of water wipe it clear, then use a dry part of the cloth just to dry it off. Remember that the cloth needs to be barely damp. Other cleaning products and the wrong cloths mark the screen permantently. An example is a woman I sit next too at work, and used a telephone wipe to clean the LCD monitor, it's still streaky now

Most supermarkets now stock them. Just don't buy the really cheap one's.

Well this is what I purchased to clean my 37" LCDhttp://www.cleansafe.co.uk/index.asp
It doe's a great job and contains absolutely no ALCOHOL as this can damage your screen ,if you do a bit of reserch you will find this out. They are not cheap but a small bottle will last a long time and it gets rid of all my 2 year olds finger tip smudges. Hope this helps

God! How much???? No point in paying for that when you just need the microfibre and a touch of warm water....

Microfiber and spit. My wife came close to using window cleaner and a paper towel.
I stopped her just in time.
