How easy is it to do? Do I have to call them up or is there something easy I can do to the phone to get it working over there? Thinking it should be easier in Ireland than rest of Europe cos they're so close to us - well hoping anyway...

It automatically connects though you may have to get an international call bar lifted by vodafone.

It will also cost a fortune £££

Consider Vodafone Passport it saved me a considerable amount when my son went to Italy.

Hi Nagging.

Working for Vodafone, I'd advise you contact us before you go to make sure you are enabled for international use.

You can call customer services who'll be happy to help, or you can send us an email using our Online Contact form. If you include FIT135 anywhere in the body of the text, it will be picked up by someone who can help.

You can find out more on Vodafone Passport here

I founf vondafone passport great, just remember to make one big call aposed to losts of little one where you can, and you tell your nearset and dearst the same. When I went to ireland my friends mum kept calling me, she could not get her head around the fact each time it was costing us 75p. Also remember that a lot of 75p's soon add up to a lot of money.
