Two lines merged into one?
I'm new to all this so please forgive me for being dumb.
We have ordered 2 telephone lines from BT with the same number so if somebody is busy on one line, customers can still get through to us on the other. There is a hunt group set up, and we have actually 2 sockets on the wall, with 2 separate numbers both of which divert to a third number and that number is the one known to the public. My question is if it is possible to make and receive calls on the same sets of phones somehow? At the moment we have to have phones plugged into each socket - a cordless quad in one socket and a corded in the other one. I would like to be able to use one of the quad even if somebody uses another one of the same quad. I hope you can understand what I'm trying to achieve. I would welcome any suggestions. Thanks |

I think i know what you want, But i don't think think this can be archived with your set up now. The 4 dect phones will probably only support 1 line as thats the standard really.
I'm sorry if i wasn't that helpful, I'm sure someone will come along soon to give you more advice |

from what i understand, you have 2 feature lines, a quad dect phone in one socket and a corded in the other. it would not be possible to use another handset of the dect phone whilst one is in use, because the base station that they all linked to are only plugged into 1 socket. i should imagne their is some kind of switching system that would perform what you want it to do, but to be honest it would be cheaper to buy another dect phone set for the other line, or just a base station for the other socket and link two of your existing handsets to that.

BTairway is a product that BT used to have. They are quite exspensive though:

Thanks
Thank you for all your replies. I think we will be staying with the second sets of phones for now.
