Well seeing as 3 have their own network and also have a seamless switchover to orange as a back up they are bound to be pretty damn good now arent they.
T-mobile has the worst signal of any network I have used apart from 3 in their first couple of years. I have used ALL the networks in the UK and they all vary in terms of reception in different areas. Exactly what one would expect of wireless sevices. 3G (2100Mhz) is the least robust signal of any of those available and Orange's & T-Mobile's 1800Mhz whilst better are closer to the charictaristics of 2100Mhz than the 900Mhz used by both Vodafone and 02. Perhaps that is the reason most mission critical business users choose them. BTW, the seamlesness of cross network in-call handovers has yet to be detailed in any mobile documentation..... until some technical explanation appears I consider it heresay as whilst there are fewer reports of dropped calls on 3, I note reception and call relibility are still issues on many review sites. |

3 have the best coverage in the uk now 99.9 voice and text coverage 85percent 3g service. i have used my phone in London, Manchester, Scotland and Brighton and i have never lost signal since 3 joined orange there have been a lot of improvements. when they where with 02 they had problems with dropped calls crap signal.

Pity the facts are wrong!! 3G coverage on 3 is now over 90% of the UK population. Orange GSM coverage provides the fallback but even now there are plenty of customer reports of a less than useable service in many parts of the UK (same applies to others). As always it simply depends on where you are and moving from one room to another can make a huge difference! |

Does the voicemail charges affect existing customers or is all these alterations for New and Upgrading only?

It is just silly to make such definitive judgements based on limited personal experience!

The thing about 3 that you refuse to take in (since you have had a grudge against them for a long long time) is that they have the coverage of their own network and that of orange !!!! which other network has another one to fall back on ? As for call reliability and reception, there doesnt seem to be anybody currently using 3 on this forum that are complaining. |

Some independent consumer reviews... 3 have had their own coverage and that of 02's for years... and it was not successful. They now use Orange as fallback and their 1800Mhz network is less robust than the 900Mhz GSM 02 provided as fallback.... so...?? |

them sites say bad things about all networks and phones you cant judge a network by them reviews till you tried the service for your self there are loads and loads of people who lie or who have never even tried 3 who say bad things look here vodafone review http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews101.html here is t-mobile http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews71.html no network is perfect but 3 do have the best 3g services around very good contracts and very good offers on internet.

I cover a massive area and as already said its coverage, call quality and reception blows t-mobile for one away in every area 3 has equal of not better coverage, I never have coverage for t-mobile but not on 3, the same cant be said the other way round though, on many occasions I have had no coverage on t-mobile but been able to make calls through 3. |

With regards to customer comments about mobile networks, it is true all of them have some negative feeback. What is significant though is the quantity of negative responses about 3 in relation to their relatively small subscriber base. 3 is cheap right now for sure but Hutchison are not a charity and they are probably being realistic about what their service is worth in the UK marketplace. In other words, bearing in mind the volume of complaints, offshore customer service etc, customers choosing 3 probably get what they pay for. |

Whilst i personally would never touch Three, them now using Orange as there backup network should give them really good coverage, after all Orange did have that Network Performance Promise, and i remember them always coming up number 1 in coverage tests done by independent bodies a few years ago. |

Well 17 million customers use the T-Mobile UK network, under 4 million use 3's. That must prove that T-Mobile UK have a satisfactory level of coverage in most areas of the UK if such a huge number choose to remain with them.

This is inevitable, cheap networks can't stay cheap forever. They offer amazing deals to pull customers in then hike the prices, its nothing new in the business world.
Its called staying profitable. |

You never know, tmobile might end up rethinking this the way they did with the Flext 75 plan. It was withdrawn due to 'lack of customer interest' and was reintroduced 2 months later due to 'increased customer interest"

I was just about to upgrade my T-Mobile, been a customer since the one-2-one 'free calls' days... going to finally up and leave to goto O2 now... can't see the point of remaining loyal.
Just been on the T-Mobile site... ddn't see anything to excite me.... can't believe the Voicemail charges I read abot on here either... Is O2 my best bet? And I have no idea what phone I want... but will only deal with Nokias or Samsungs... Arghh decisions.... decisions.. |

My wifes contract is coming to a close! the automated system tells her shes due an upgrade 1st September
Shes currently on the Flext 20 tariff though she only pays £15 per month for it (offer she took out at the time) Am I right in thinking that if she upgrades, her current handset is knackered, then she will lose the monthly discount she gets and end up with a worse tariff? Probably end up going to three if thats the case |

Probably end up going to three if thats the case I am not eligible to upgrade until 20th September. However, I usually buy sim free phones so I don't actually need to upgrade from a getting a new phone perspective. I assume that my Flext 35 tariff will carry on without any changes to the voicemail if I don't get a new handset. I wanted to benefit from the free evening and weekend calls offer but that's strangely ended at a time when the majority of original Flext customers contracts end. Strange that! |
