Hello Newbie Here

I'm having an uphill struggle with virgin to take seriously a problem with sending texts to a bt landline.

I'm registered for bt text service on my landline and also on my charities landline. Text messages from 02, vodaphone and other networks come through not a problem. Texts from any one of the three virgin media mobiles zilch. It worked for three weeks then stopped. Flagged up the issue with virgin media and was promptly told a bt problem. Went to BT Mobile they said they know nothing about it contact you mobile operator. Tryed again with virgin there interface for texting is handled by t-mobile. T-moble keep telling virgin we are not listening to what you are saying and categorically put out the same answer it's barring on your landline ?

Managed to get product people at BTtext to investigate they found out the service was not getting to bt because of t-mobile firewall. After a number of days it was restored but two weeks ago we are back to square one virgin media quoting box standard answer from t-mobile and the service is still down. Texts from other operators ok.

The reason for this posting i'm interested to know if anyone else is having this problem and or someone from t-mobile might see it and actually take notice.

I'm trying to launch a service for contact to my charity using the text to our landline but can't launch it because of this flaky situation.

It may be a consideration to check also - I've seen a couple of posts from people who have ported their number from another network to Virgin that say they've had some text to landline problems. I'm not sure if they got their issues resolved, one of them included a person trying to get SMS notifications when someone left 1571 at home too, and that didn't work in reverse on a ported Virgin number, yet it did on an original Virgin number.

Thanks for your suggestion

My families three mobiles two were virgin one was t-mobile originally but none of them will work. Despite having done so.

Another spanner in the works is that i can use the virgin mobiles to send to my brothers landline but not my own or my charities number.
