Following a huge success in America I Love You Because opens at The Landor Theatre from Wednesday 19 September - Saturday 20 October. Press Night WEDNESDAY 26 SEPTEMBER

I Love You Because is a modern day musical love story that centres around two New York brothers and the girls they fall in love with. Smart, funny and with a score that ranges from tongue-twisting comic songs to heartbreaking ballads, this is a musical that will make you realise why we fall in love.

Featuring music by Joshua Salzman, book and lyrics by Ryan Cunningham, musical director Ian Vince-Gatt, choreography by Robbie O’Reilly, designed by Andy Edwards, lighting designer Richard Lambert.

CAST – DANIEL BOYS, a contestant on BBC’s search for Joseph in Any Dream Will Do and most recently played the role of Anthony in the concert version of Sweeney Todd at the Royal Festival singing alongside Bryn Terfel; DEBBIE KURUP whose extensive credits include Mimi in Rent and Velma Kelly in Chicago; RICHARD FRAME who recently appeared with Dilly Keane in Me & My Girl; CAMERON JACK who starred in We Will Rock You; JODIE JACOBS and LUCY EMMA WILLIAMSON

JOSHUA SALZMAN recently received the ASCAP Foundation Frederick Loewe Award for musical theatre composition. RYAN CUNNINGHAM wrote the musical romantic comedy Chance at Love with Composer Thomas Curtin which toured 17 cities in the USA in July 2001. Ryan attended the Musical Theatre Writing Program at NYU during that time he wrote I Love You Because with composer Joshua Salzman.

Director ROBERT MCWHIR has had a varied theatrical career as performer, director and producer. Since arriving at the Landor, Robert has independently produced (for Prompt Corner) Torch Song Trilogy, and directed Side by Side by Sondheim, Aladdin, The Apple Tree, Cinderella, Once Upon A Mattress, A Woman A Dog A Walnut Tree, Muscles! the musical, the UK premiere of A Class Act, Four Murders and a Drugs Bust and The Musical Medium.

The Landor Theatre has quickly gained a reputation for its fresh approach to musicals. Last year’s production of Follies, also directed by Robert McWhir, was described as “splendid” (Time Out), and “spirit-raising” (The Times)

I wish it was the West End and not Clapham, but hopefully it will be transferred.

I don't know if it will ... the theatre it is at is a well known 'Fringe' theatre ... and the show itself was 'Off Broadway' which is the same thing over there ... but was very successful.

We're just pleased because we weren't sure he would fit anything in before panto.

Clapham isn't far out of London ... easy enough to get to.

What do you mean out of london, its in london, zone 2 isnt a whole new city.

I'm delighted that another Joseph is perfoming in south london - I could buy 4 tickets to see Dan for what I've paid for hairspray But do hope he gets a west end gig in the new year, he's much too good not to.

I'm sure he will but this is a well known musical and it fills in time until Panto ...

We await with interest to what he might be in, in the New Year!

My thoughts exactly! Really tempted to try and get tickets to see Daniel but it's a really awkward location for me. I may have to wait and read the reviews instead.

I've already booked for this. now we just need a west End show in the New Year and everything will be perfect. I am may even stop sticking pins in my ALW doll.
