Just wondering if anyone knows of a reasonably cheap DVD player (I already have a DVD recorder, so need nothing special), that will play MP3s from a CD or DVD disc. The one I have (it's real cheapo --- Himage) does this, but the only thing is that the display when playing MP3 playlists is horrible --- very blocky, only gets the first eight letters of any music directory/artist/track etc.
I'm looking for something that hopefully shows a decent enough display and has enough options to make playing MP3s (which is really all I'm going to be using the player for) a nicer experience.
And before anyone asks why not use my DVD recorder, it's a Panasonic and a bit old, and it doesn't handle MP3s (or DIVx)...
Anyway, thanks for any advice!

Most DVD players are the same unfortunately.

Really you need something that is designed for MP3 playback specifically. I can recommend the old Netgear MP101, yours on fleabay for about £30. This connects to your home network and plays files from your PC. It has a decent LED display and is generally more useable than a DVD player.

Yes, even the more expensive players still have very basic display facilities for MP3 playlists.
