I have a Pioneer DVR-540HX-S - purchased in Feb 2007.
Have a Panasonic Sky Digibox (not Sky+) connected to AV2/L1, which I use to record all my programmes from.

Everything has been fine until end of July - suddenly all my Schedule titles disappeared to be replaced with just times.
I found other posts on this forum advising a reset of system and redownload of Guideplus data. Did this and ran the whole machine and Guideplus setup again. All Ok. Next day all Guideplus data was there so I added schedule again. Next day same thing happened - no titles in schedule, and this time no data at all in Guideplus! As far as I know I had done noting different to the first time - but still frustrated by what happened in first place.

Contacted Pioneer - advised reset - so went through whole thing again. All ok, then lo and behold same thing again - no titles and no Guideplus.

Contacted Pioneer - guess what - advised reset! Seems to be standard response.

I have been through this whole thing about 5 times now and it keeps happening.

Reloaded Guideplus again last night - and I noticed this morning that the channel source for some of the channels is wrong - it certainly has been right before as my programs have recorded OK. For example it has downloaded channel 207 for 5US instead of 180. This changed earlier this year on the Sky platform - is Guideplus sending out duff data - could this be the source of my problems?

Anyone any ideas?

Thanks

By reset do you mean you held down the stop button on the front of the unit (under the square), then pressed the standby button (again on the unit) and let go of the Stop button?

If so, it sounds like you haven't quite got it to choose the right box that you are using. I've got a cable box, but I had to get a download before the proper box was chosen to allow it to go to channel 101. It may need there is additional stuff in the setup that you need to think about.

Hope this is helpful; I know how frustrating this can be.

Thanks for the reply - yes I did as you say - full reset - had to go through the complete machine set up (select country, scan for channels etc.

When I do initial Guideplus set up, the only choice of Sky Digital box is Sky Digital, there are no manufacturers/models listed - however, the first 'test' that the machine tries does set the channel to 101 as expected.

What is really annoying about this is that the machine has been perfect for 5 months - (only human error (!) caused it to miss programmes) - I want to know what has caused it to go so horribly wrong - frustrating does not even begin to describe it.
