Inbetweena rock and a hard place to do with an "incident" with a new HD-DVD player.
Okay, don't laugh, critise or just outright be mean about it. The following may seem weird, inplausible and totally false but it all happened. Its not my fault, it wasn't his fault. But the Retailer doesn't seem to think its funny.
Basically, I have this retarded cousin. He's got every syndrome under the sun. And yesterday my aunt came round with him in tow. Somehow he got on his own in my living room, opened the dvd drive bay up and stuck his dick on it (he has a penchant for placing never regions on electrical equipment for some reason), but he must have leaned against the tray causing it close, taking his willy with it. In a fit of, what I assume was agony, he knocked my 42" plasma tv off the stand which subsequently smashed, and then urinated himself. Or rather urinated into my hd-dvd player. I'm surprised he didn't electrocute himself. Now my retailer is apparently saying a smashed plasma needs to replaced, since repairing it isn't worth doing, and I'm not covered by the warranty because it wasn't a manufacturing fault, plus, urine damage in dvd players is also not covered by the warranty. Like I say I'm in a rock and a hard place. My retard cousin is still recovering in hospital however. Good job really he didn't try and press play, it might have ripped his dick off. |

Put a lock on the door in future.
Put the new DVD in the box and send it back to the shop and say it had a bit missing. You should get your money back. Claim on your contents insurance for plasma television. |

I am so sorry, but I nearly choked with laughter when I read your post
![]() I used to work with differently abled people, and I can totally believe your story - you will laugh about it yourself in years to come. No warranty is going to pick up the tab for damage done accidentally (and lets be honest, it WAS an accident, its not as if it was done out of malice). Do you have home contents insurance with accidental damage cover? If so, claim from them for new kit. Failing that, you are into spending the cash all over again - maybe your aunt might pitch in and help? |

As stated, it's obviously NOT covered by warranty, and replacing a screen costs more than the set did. As also suggested, your household insurance should cover you!.

oh dear... I really hoped this was a joke.... but if not then my deepest sympathy.
However there is no way that the manufacturers warranty would cover this, and why should it? much like a car maker won't pay out if you crash your new car. Household insurance is the next step, good luck explaining it to them. |
