T-Mobile PAC code: where?
Mr. X
15-08-2007
I want to cancel T-Mobile and go over to a cheaper package at Three as T-Mobile will only give me a dead basic Nokia as a free upgrade (I'm a light phone user). I phoned T-Mobile's 150 number to tell them this and request a PAC code, only to be informed that "speaking to this specialist team will cost 50p per minute, up to a maximum of £5". I'm not paying that; is there any other way to get a PAC code, or do I have to pay premium rate?

Edit: I just phoned up and they wouldn't give it to me! Honest to god, I'm cancelling the direct debit and not having a mobile...

As far as I know they cant deny you a PAC if your contract is coming to an end. Take it into a T-Mobile shop and get them to call customer service for you.

I was on T-Mobile PAYG until they ended the free texts offer and I had a bitch of a time getting a PAC from them but in the end I got it and moved away.

My contract ran out today, I've got my original sign-up form here that says "15 August 2007" on it. The website is offering me upgrades and renewals, a section that's normally blocked off. But they claimed that I was bound until the end of September and wanted an "early termination fee". I'm working in town tomorrow, so I'll go into the T-Mobile shop and Three shop and ask both for advice. Three will be keen to get me to switch, so they might fight my corner if I take the documentation in.

Yeah Three will be very keen but there's not a lot they can do. When you go into the T-Mobile shop just be polite but insistant that your leaving. Take any documents with you and just explain to them they've refused you a PAC and ask them to call Customer Service and get the PAC there and then. Once you have your PAC pop along to the Three shop and if you see something you like go for it and give them the PAC if they ask for it.

IMO T-Mobile have gone right downhill again but I was only a PAYG customer.
