Hi everyone.

I recently got a new samsung D75 digital camera, i am very happy with it the only problem is the battery doesn't even last a day. Does anyone else have this camera and had similar problems. Is there anything i can do to make the battery last longer ?

Well, it depends what you've been doing with it during the day.

If it was unused all day, but had drained the battery by the following morning, then you have a problem.

If you took a lot of photos, especially using the flash or video or something, then the battery may not last a day.

An idea of how many shots you got out of it, and the kind of conditions they were taken in, would help.

Digital Cameras tend to rate the battery in terms of how many shots you should get out of it, rather than time.

Also ... is it a built in battery or are you using AA's?

Im using AA's. I only took about 5 - 10 pictures and i would only have the camera on when i took the picture then turn it off straight away. Didn't really use the flash as it was mostly outside and sunny, maybe at the most had it on twice.

Switch to some 2500mAh rechargeables and you should see some improvement. (Assuming you're just using disposable alkalines here)

Although 10 odd shots does sound pretty bad, apparently some cameras can drain standard batteries that quickly.

Have a read here ...

Thanks very much for your help.

That range of Samsungs are notorious for poor battery life. High capacity rechatgeables are definately the way to go.
