I have a few questions regarding the service from Tiscali.

I'm looking to change my home phone/broadband and saw that Tiscali are looking to go national with there tv service. The exchange in my town has recently had Tiscali's LLU equipment installed and there website says that it'll be avaliable soon.

Is the service done only down the phone line? and if so what sort of connection is needed to garrentee a good service, there speed test indicates that I'll get 3.5mbps, this is about half what I'm getting from my current ISP, is that enough?

I assume that the channels are shown live and not on a time delay? If your whatching TV whats the internet connection like at the same time?

If someone has the answers that would be great, the website doesn't really go into the technical side of whats required,

There should be no reason for your speed test to show a difference in capacity between different ISP's.

How far are you from the exchange, if you got 7Mb before then you must be within a few hundred metres. Is it possible that (after the legal issues with ISP's claiming 'up to 8mbit') that Tiscali are quoting the speed with the TV service running?

The TV service usually takes 1-2Mb from your capacity but it can take more for Sky channels (I'm guessing, I've never checked it).
