Can you browse album covers on an ipod like you can on the iphone , if not why not !

No you cant. The iPod isnt powerful enough to do it decently IMO.

If you've got a colour screen iPod, with album art you can do this. When you're playing a song just click the middle button a few times until the album art comes up. Waste of time and battery as you have to change the song to see the other album arts.

It can't do it because it was introduced (to portable devices) with the iPhone and Apple haven't introduced a new iPod since then. Quite simple really.

'Cover flow' is a feature supposedly on the iphone, it's not on the current generation of Ipods however, although you can change the 'view' to see the album covers as you skip from track to track.

Cover flow is on I-tunes however, and can operate in full screen mode on your PC, it looks very slick but not great if you want to listen to track 6 on an album of 12 tracks.

You can look at album art (one at a time for the track currently playing) but you can't do the fancy cover flow.
