Why Does Vicki Have An American Accent?
I thought she left when she was about 10 years old - when she had a cockney accent and she was staying with her mum who also has a cockney accent.
So how comes in the space of six years, she suddenly comes back with an American accent? |

It's easy to pick up accents at such a young age just like me when i lost my lovely cambridge accent for that horrid leicester accent.

Anyway, didn't she leave way before she was 10? I thought she left in about 1995...
And yeah, you can pick up accents that quickly. I remember when I moved from Gloucester to Kent when I was 11....my accent was gone in a few months! |

I reckon in reality she'd have more of a kelly osbourne accent - an american twang mixed with some natural britishisms - I guess that's harder to learn at elocution than the abomination that she pulls off though!

I moved here 13 years ago and I never lost my Canadian accent but it is not as strong as it used to be. A lot of Brits think that I am an American.
Anyone else have the same experience?
