* One of the Gorden kids will be killed in a big car crash...

* Mike is leaving the close for good...

* Somone else will also follow Mike out of Brookside.

And Now...

The worst spolier of all...........

A development company sets its sights on Brookside Close, and offers the residents large amounts of money for their houses!

The last person to leave the close could well be Jimmy Corkhill, with flashbacks of events that have taken place in each house before he finally walks out of the close for the last time.

More in this weeks Inside Soap

I am appalled at Channel four for just giving up on this excellent soap

Well, I have just stumbled across some good news!

In Todays Liverpool Daily Post, there is an article about the new head of Drama at Channel Four, and he has this to say about the Brookie situation:

"No decision has finally been taken. If we can find a way for it to pay its way, if it can punch its weight in the schedule there'd be nothing nicer than to keep it. Brookside probably means more to me than any other show because that's where I started as a viewer.

I have a huge feeling of loyalty towards it, and Mersey TV has been the backbone of Channel 4 for 21 years. You don't forget that overnight. No one wants to kill off a soap opera and we're looking at different options."

So maybe the storyline about the Development Company can be twisted so that the residents of the Close refuse to move!

Well let's hope it is good news for Brookie.

As a side note, referring to Chris's post about a Gordon being killed in a car crash, i hope its the dreadfully awful Ali (ginger son) as he bugs my life.

Also, why are they doing this storyline again ?- sounds like a repeat of many previous Brookie stories (Matthew and Emily Farnham, Tony Dixon)???

Stephen Pinder and Alex Fletcher were interviewed and suggested that if C4 went ahead and dropped Brookside, being independently produced, it could be sold to Five.

If whoever buys it gets rid of the awful fake film effect, it might just be worth watching.

That's something that has been going round for ages. It's really more wishful thinking than anything else.

Have to agree with you there, Gary. That was the start of the end for me as it looked so bad I simply stopped watching. I really wish they would drop the filmic effect as I'm now starting to get back into Brookie but still hate the look.

BTW well done, Liverpool for winning European Capital of Culture 2008 from all of us on Tyneside

it is not one of the kids who dies. its the mother, she drives into a wall. u dnt actually see the crash on screen but u see everything leading upto it. we are led to beleive she committed suicide. and brookside IS heading for the end. i know the writer. roy boulter and he says that they are very definatly starting to wrap up the story. with the depature of mike dixon and katie rogers. so it looks like its BYE BYE BROOKIE.

A big week for Brookie news so far! Today is no exception!

Mersey have got the late night slot they've been begging C4 for and Brookside is moving to 11pm on Tuesdays - permenantly (Well until November at least!)

Lets see what the next few months bring us - hopefully some classic hard hitting storylines that made Brookie what it was from 1982-1998.

Also a very comical episode featuring Tim and Steve goes out on the 21st - Is this the rumoured "strip club" episode???

More spoilers follow........

The Gorden leaving is not one of the kids but is infact Debbie! That should be fun, 4 young people with no Mum and Dad.

The other person leaving Brookside is Max.

And apparantly the show is finishing in October - but I'd take that with more then a pinch of salt.

So does he leave alone, with just the kids, or with Jacqui as well? Do Jacqui and Max split up?

Does Max wake up and find that he still works in Crossroads and it was all a dream? No seriously.

I get the impression that they split up.

Perhaps Jacqui could strap the kids in the car and then while she's driving and they are playing up she could turn around and say "I could just kill you" before having a horrendous accident which gets rid of the children. Then Jacqui could go off with the fireman who rescues her and Max would then leave

I think this is a bit much!
And very similar to what happened to Matthew and Emily.
