hi everyone, i thought id pop on here and ask your advice after a very strange phone call to orange.

im on payg. i phoned because im on the pick your own off peak and thought id be better off changing to their tarriff that charges a flat 15ppm and you get free text if you top up at least 10 pounds each month. i had an extra on my account for text messages and i asked if my extras will remain. he said yes your extra will remain but i will lose my 5 free text messages a day. i didnt think id bought a out here original when my partner did but it got me thinking maybe i did. i asked him to comfirm that a get five free a day and he mumbled ill just put you through to the technical dept. well he didnt. he just put me through to someone who wouldnt speak to me. i could hear the guys in the office chatting and no one spoke so i hung up. i have always been charged, well at least for the last four years, for my text messages so im guessing if im supposed to be getting these then they owe me alot of money.

what do you think i should say when i ring again tomorrow. i dont want them to bulls**t me. do you think if im supposed to be on it that they owe me lots of cash lol?

cheers

you wont get ya money back. In orange's PAYG T&C if you change any part of your plan, you can loose any bonus features IE free texts and such. Try it, by all means but i doubt you will get anything from them.

You could try asking them for clarification. However as you don't remember asking for them and didn't miss getting them, I'd say there is a good chance the operator was just mistaken. Given the Orange's current customer service problems (see the thread about the 'Dave' training programme) its probably an error.

well i rang them last night. i didnt have any free meassages which was a shame. but because it took so long to sort out they gave me 600 free text messages and restarted my last extra back at 50 as well. they also gave me one pound credit. so thats a bit of a bargain! my extra is a bit confusing though. it says i have 50 left and have to use them before august 18th!
