giving my phone away... a canadian.. help
I have recently upgraded my mobile and no longer need my current one (sony erric w550i). My canadian cousin needs a phone and I was thinking of giving her mine.
Do I need to do anything special with thephone or can she simply take the phone to canada, put in a native sim card and itll work as normal.. any help will be appreciated |

More than likely the handset will need to be "unlocked". Either see your local market or ring your service provider and ask for a "subsidy pin", there will be a charge but this is likely to be less in a local market/phone shop than the provider.
Doing this doesnt gurantee phone features with other networks. |

Check if it isnt unlocked already by trying another networks sim card in.
