Hi, I have a Toppy and a video recorder, a sky box ( used mostly before I bought the toppy) and I have just bought a DVD recorder with freeview ( Panasonic DMR EZ 25 EB). What is the best connection set up for these? and How do I connect my freeview ariel to both my Toppy and DVD? Thanks.

You will see that the Toppy has 4 aerial connections.

1. Aerial 1 input is for tuner one. Connect this to the aerial socket on your wall.
2. Aerial 1 output is for connecting to aerial 2 input. This is usually done with the short connector supplied.
3. Aerial 2 input is for digital tuner two.
4. Aerial 2 output is for taking the signal to another device (e.g. your DVD recorder).

If you want to be able to record output from both your Toppy and Sky Box to the DVD recorder then you will need a SCART switcher to allow 2 inputs (from your Set Top Boxes) to be fed into 1 input (your DVD recorder).

If you have a weak signal, be aware that, as with any device, by the time it's gone through the Toppy, it will be a little weaker - each junction or socket on an aerial cable slightly degrades the signal.

So, if you already have a poor signal, you might want to consider getting a multi-output amplifier, and feeding each tuner of the Toppy, and the tuners of your DVD and TV, from a separate output.
