Here was my original comment in another thread, which it seems a few other people agree with, so I have started this thread:

I am so disappointed with the show this year - they have turned it into nothing more than an excuse to laugh at people with special needs, or for Simon Cowell to exercise his ego.

One example was Dafydd on the Xtra Factor (not sure if I have spelt that right) - he was a nice lad, quite cute, and a good personality. He chose a ridiculous song, but if he had sung something that suited his voice I think he could have been quite good. But Simon Cowell chose to go on a power trip and was deliberately sarcastic and unkind to him. I felt very sorry for him.

Dafydd, if you read this, I thought you were great, so don't give up.
