 i dont normally watch coronation street often but have been watching it recently and cannot believe how poor and boring it has become its really bad at the moment so many characters need to be axed and the storylines need to stop being dragged out with the same scenes happening over and over like a record on repeat play compared to 2004 coronation street this is very bad and very boring

I haven't been into Corrie for a while but I don't think its as bad as everyone keeps making out. I agree it needs a cast clearout and I cannot stand Paul Duckworth. I think the actor is appauling.

Corrie isn't as bad a Emmerdale at the moment. I used to never miss an episode of Emmerdale, but now I can take it or leave it.

True. It is being let down by the awful Peacock storyline. Most people on here cant stand them if that is reflected across the nation the viewers must be bored to tears.

The Claire/Ashley/Casey stuff is just tripe - but the actress who plays Casey said that the reason for that was the entire story had to be rewritten because of Madeleine McCann. Apart from that there's not a lot wrong with it - I think Paul Duckie's a great character!

You know, it is much more healthy to talk about what you like than what you don't like. Negativity breeds negativity and there are enough threads slagging off each program without prolificating another one.

Clashley brings the show down. The rest of it, generally, is absolutely fine, especially after they moved away from the dull Derek/Liz affair and the John stuff.

Never been fond of Cilla but I can tolerate her as she doesn't take up much airtime; Clashley does.

If you don't watch it generally, then that means you're not a fan anyway, so I don't really see what you're griping about.

We need more Claire scenes, not less

i agree that the claire ashley stuff is spoiling what is otherwise an excellent show, hopefully it will all come to an end soon and corrie will go back to its usual high standard

Well no offence, but if you don't normally watch Corrie how can you possibly know how 'poor it has become recently'?

If you have not watched it in the past then you cannot possibly make comparisans with the present?

The Ashley bollocks is really boring. It is a pity as I was starting to like Claire when she stole the neighbours stereo. This whole thing has been dragged out and I doubt many, if any have enjoyed it.

Bring Richard Hillman back to finish the pair off Or let David do it! Or perhaps a car crash? Perhaps another house fire with them chained up so they can't get away?

I stopped watching a couple of weeks as the Ashley/Casey stuff was boring me to tears. When that story line is over I'll watch it again.

I agree that it is poor - the claire/ashley/casey plot is just a poor copy of the brilliant and original May Dawn and Rob baby story in Eastenders - they have so many characters that I do not acre for anymore the better characters like Norris Rita Eileen Steve Emily , Becky i Know Roy and Hayley have a big storyline coming up but tehy havn't had decent ait time for ages. They really need to sort the whole problem out - Eastenders Hollyaoks and even Emmeradel are a mile or two ahead
