EE- Come on what do they take us for
i love eastenders at the moment but come on what do they take us for Lucy a 13 year old running and doing the cooking in a fish and chip shop i don't think so, its illegal to start wih plus i know i wouldn't want to buy fish and chips cooked by a 13 year old.

There isn't actually any law stopping children from working. As long as they take breaks every four hours and don't work longer than 10 at a time, its ok.
Plus I don't think Lucy was running the chip shop. She was just setting up the fish. |

If its ok for Lucy to work there now, what was wrong with Darren working there a few years ago.
He is older than Lucy so at that time he would have been about 13 or older |

Must admit I've been surprised there isn't any health and safety law that would prevent her from working there.

I don't think it's illegal unless she's left alone. I found it funny how just the other week Ian was telling Craig off for leaving Lucy alone at the Chip Shop but today we saw him and Jane leave her on her own.

I think there are H&S rules where you can't operate the fryer until you are 16.. but then again it might just be hearsay.
