I bit into a plum once, looked down and saw a maggot wriggling in middle.

Luckily it was whole
Come on ZD, you should have been grateful for the added protein content!

I always find maggots in blackberries when I go blackberry-picking in the autumn.

The worst thing thing I've found was a blue catering plaster in macaroni cheese at school.
It was huge - I'm surprised the cooks missed it tbh!

Not really gross, but not nice either, I found a staple in my prawn coctail once

And no, it wasnt a 'staple' diet.....

Urban Legend, you'll be saying you heard about a rat in a KFC next.
Nooo, it's not! http://www.metacafe.com/watch/459339..._chicken_head/

Talking of restaurants...

A friend went to some sort of ethnic restaurant... ordered a kebab with salad dish of some sort... when she got it servered... a cockroach ran out off the plate when a leaf or slice of something was lifted up...

We found glass in something from the bakery department in Asda about 7 years ago. My daughter was eating something, can't remember what it was now, and luckily only being young, she was being fussy and my mum was encouraging her to eat it and spotted it before she could put it in her mouth.

Asda were very unhelpful and really couldn't have cared less, just offered us some vouchers or some other fob off offer.

I know this is an old thread, so sorry for bumping it, but I thought I would add my two pennies worth to the thread.

Not sure if it counts, since it was only a dream I had, but I am scared it might happen to me in real life and because of the dream, I am off cake for a good while. OK:

Last night, I had a dream that I went to this http://statics.192.com/estreet/origi...4/10748246.jpg department store's cafe and ordered some a slice of cake. Some other people sat near me had ordered some slices of cake as well. I take a bite into the cake, and what should I find - mice droppings! The other people find mice droppings in their cake slices as well and when I threw my cake slice back onto my plate, the cake breaks into pieces to reveal that there was a dead mouse in the middle of my slice of cake!

Even though this was just a dream, I am off all cake products for the forseeable future!

I'd say it's old, it was created three years before you joined so how did you find it?

I was searching on Google for experiences people have had on finding bad things in food!

I broke off a piece of Cadbury's Wholenut and there was a wriggly little maggot eating its way through a nut.

When I was a teenager my Aunt was eating a salmon sandwich in front of me when she suddenly stopped and said there's something funny in it. I looked at it and realised that there was half of a blue bottle sticking out. She had already swallowed the last mouthful, eergh!

That has made me retch.

There must have been similar threads as I know I'veposted about this before.

I was part way through a bag of chips - moved a clump of them and out rolled a large black cockroach. Environmental health took it away to determine whether it had been deep fried or accessed the bit where they put the cooked chips and then died. Not that I cared. I didn't eat chips from a chip shop for over a year and for the first few weeks I had to fight the urge to go up and warn people to search their chips right to the bottom before starting to eat them

Trading standards took the owner of the chippy to court and he was fined £50.

I had a sandwich and there was a piece of fabric that had obviously been cooked in the loaf when it was made. The sandwich was prepared by our office canteen ...how the hell they could make a sandwich and not notice was beyond me.
( Canteen no longer in business )

Wow that was some deterent so they make sure it won't happen again. The fine should be something like £500 minimum.

As I mentioned on this thread: http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1618524 I found droppings in a tub of popcorn at a Poundstretcher store.

I once ordered a bucket of chicken at KFC and when I opened it there was a drumstick in the middle with a honking great claw still attached to the end.

To be fair, it provided so much entertainment that it would've been unfair to have complained about it though.
