Hello,

I am thinking about getting the LG 32L56. I have a few questions about it.

http://www.empiredirect.co.uk/conten...LGE-32LC56.htm

Is it a good TV?

Is the picture quality good?

Is XD engine good?

What is Surround Max? I don't think it is anything to do with SRS.

I don't think there is much/any mention of Dolby sound, does it have Dolby sound?

Is there good sound quality?

Is one or both of the scart sockets RGB enabled (need 1-2)?

What is the compatibility like with standard Sky remotes, I have got a blue/black rev. 6 remote and a silver/grey/white rev. 8 remote?

Is it easy to attach the stand to the TV?

Are the rumours true about the problem with the backlight on it?

What is LG product support like?

Is there any known problems with this TV?

Thanks,
Stephen.

My dad currently has the 32lc46 which is the same as the 56 expcept for a couple of things and is being picked up and is getting a full refund for the following reasons, constant light leakage from the tubes behind, black is not quite black infact , the sd picture is the worst i have ever seen and does not by far keep up when watching football and was like being in a goldfish bowl when watching the cricket , you can see faint white lines going accross the screen from left to right. The menu system is a nighmare and need i go on , so far todate I have not found a possitive review about these 2 models and im glad my self i did not bother. Oh PS dont bother going to currys they could not organize a piss up in a brewery. I would look in to the panasonics I am they currently have good reviews for the TX32LMD70 and if u want the 100hz model which I want go for the TX32LXD70 around the £600 mark but worth it in my opinion.
I hope this helps

Regards Pete

The problem with LG is that their products look superb but they don't seem to last long or perform to peoples expectations

LG their acronym was LuckyGoldstar it should be your Lucky if its Good for more than a couple of months

Maybe now that they have changed it to Life'sGood their products may improve

Is that problem likely to occur with the LG 32LC56? Has anyone not had problems with LG.

I am not that particulary a huge fan of Samsung (not the most durable), Sony is too expensive.

What do you all think of Philips LCD TV's?

Back when they were still called Goldstar an old friend of mine who lives in the USA called in the shop to see me, and we had some Goldstar TV's on display - he said "are Goldstar sh*t over here as well?".

Perhaps there's a reason Sony ones are expensive?

Don't even go there! - check the various anti-Philips threads!.

We sell mainly Sony, and are a Sony main dealer and authorised LCD/Plasma service agent - so we're probably not unbiased!

But we sell a LOT of Sony and find them excellent, next biggest are Samsung, and we've found those pretty good as well - not as good a picture as the Sony's, but for the smaller price well worth it.

We don't sell them, so I have no direct information - we don't sell them though because LG haven't been very good in the past.

On their best day pathetic - and goes downhill from there!.

I've always bought LG equipment, never had any issues with it.

I did have a faulty LG LCD at first which broke within 29 days of arrival but i've had the replacement for 8 months now without any issues.

I've never had to use their service, i bought the TV from Comet and they have their own engineers.

My mother has a 32'' LG LCD 'HD Ready' tv, and I have to say it seems to be a clear and crisp picture. She isn't running anything HD through it though, just the standard Sky Digital picture. Found the remote code on here through the search facility, but had to order a new rev.8 version of the sky remote off e bay.
My dad has just bought a 42'' HD ready LG LCD, which he seems happy with, but this is a huge set IMO and does not handle the pictures as well.
