sadly, there has been a series of not so cool blunders with the uninvincible Jon over the last week.

He has looked like the strain has got to him a few times (He looked stressed out one time when they were doing their parade) and he was hurt by the nom (grinding the coriander? too strongly). also, the talking during noms and eviction is a bit selfish of him. Now the foodgate was handled a bit sloppily with some sarcasm about Justine thrown in for comedy (which was amusing and maybe even true) and even getting emotionally involved in it instead of being above the finger pointing.

He is starting to look as if he is feeling the same strains as the other and his star has fallen a bit for me but hes still my favourite. Im hoping its just a bad patch but only time will tell.

Also, he has encouraged the idea that the voters dont like him and is allowing them to show him disrepect about it in front of his face. Its never good to see people encourage lack of respect fro themselves.

I think what is making this worse is that he knows not all of the housemates like him, and he also knows at the back of his mind that the housemates might be bitching behind his back!

I hate bullys

The others feel inferior to him which makes them behave like this maybe they know how popular he is.

I agree with you Goodfella. Jon is showing serious flaws. He is only human though many on these boards would probably disagree with that.

All these things were why I liked him in the first place. Because he's a bit of a wally.

No of course he is human, thats why we love him.......he is the only one being himself in that house and i think him showing flaws will only do him some more favours

yes but the point I was getting at was that these are weaknesses rather than idiosyncrasies (or whatever the word is). His other `odd` behaviour patterns in the first week gave him a positive outcome (i.e. getting big brother to say a certain phrase etc) but encouraging people to show you no respect is negative.

we will see how it goes. I thought he was above house politics but he has gotten too emotionally involved in it (like Scott handling it straightforward and Jon being a bit tactless on it)

hopefully its a blip.

I agree he is showing strain etc and agree that is just being human.
What I have immense admiration for him is for not losing it at any point so far with the others as he clearly knows that very few, if any, want him there.
I'd be complete 'you wanted me to go didn't you? why??' and start a rammy
A strong man.

As I'm not watching live it's hard for me to comment. Being obvious, I would like to add that everyone has a breaking point, even the rock that is Jon Tickle.

I remember Paul from BB2 showing strain, although he coped reasonably well, after being continually rejected.

Once the rot sets in...

He doesn't mean to encourage other to have no respect for him, its just the way his whole attitude towards life is and the way he was brought up.

I think he is the most level headed person i have seen. A very down to earth typer fella who sometimes can go out to space to make himself feel happy

Sweet and innocent

lala I am very impressed by your grasp on human behaviour hes still my favourite by miles but from what I can gather it was Jon that set up the conditions for Sissy to basically rubbish him to his face during the eviction last night. Pepole shouldnt encourage others to diss them.

Lets hope he can get back to his old ways. Im still laughing at his antics in the first week (especially the disco )

As far I was aware Sissy was the one that went off on one and Jon just replied "I don't know why I'm still here either"

He was given a hard time by the vomit inducing Nush, and wasn't backed up by some of the guys who had been most vocal about the problems... I'm not surprised he's a bit fed up.

As for his "It begins with J..."

That was classic Jon, and why he really must stay. That was his greatest Alan Partridge moment yet.

The problem some people are having is seeing his faults now... I saw all those yonks ago, but decided his good points, as a person, and for entertainment value, far outweighed any of the negatives. I've seen nothing today that makes me think any different to how I thought 3 days ago.

As usual with Big Bro, somebody becomes popular for maybe 2 weeks and then people decide to jump on some new bandwagon. Looks like another predictable winner.

would that be the Jon you voted to be evicted in the DS poll?
gazza71
07-06-2003
If you're talking to me... I voted for Jon on either day 1 or day 2 in the poll, and then soon wanted him to stay and asked for a new poll so I could vote for Federico. Since then I have been one of his biggest supporters.

Jon''s human flaws just make him all the more appealing in my eyes.

Bless his Jedi socks but he's a bit of a Brittas chracter, he tries to help, he tries to do his best and still manages to wind the others up but I don't think anyone can accuse him of having a malicious or nasty streak, certainly not on the scale of some of the other hms, which is far more unappealing than the fact he can be a bit of a wally in some peoples eyes.

I'm not surprised he's showing signs of strains, he's been made an outcast and an object of ridicule in there just because he doesn't fit in with certain peoples ideals of what it is to be popular (which incidently I find exceedingly boring and churlish)

He's the antithesis to BB and the other wannabes and I think there's a lot of people out there who recognise in their own situations times they've been made to fell out on the sidelines just because they don't conform to the crowd.

yes I know it was the first impression vote. My first impression was that he might have something to him.

The point Im making is that he has shown characteristics over the last week which will have a negative impact on him rather than the first week where they were giving him fulfillment. Sissy would never shout like that if she didnt think she had the go ahead. If she thought he would answer back I dont think she would have done it. Davina said something like Jons telling them he is going.

thats just my humble opinion.

But my point is that it isn't his fault. Its just the way he is.
