Phillips 32" CRT TV Standby Blinks Red
Hello all,
For ages now I have craved a widescreen TV and now I have finally moved out I found one on the local newspaper in the classifieds section. It was a Philips 32" Widescreen, the set worked fine for a week or so but every few days instead of turning on the LED on the standby started to flash. A cold reset usually fixed this. But now it wont turn on at all and always flashes! I'm not even going to attempt to get it repaired or contact Philips as I know I will be wasting my time / money as the set cost £100. But could this be a simple problem to fix or shall I attempt to ask for my money back?? Thanks a lot! |

You need to report back with the model no taken from the rear label.
2 numbers, 2 letters, 4 numbers. |

It could be the childlock is activated.
This shows up as a flashing red light. pete |

A strong possibility is the CRT (tube), Philips have a massive early failure rate on their later tubes.
Strikes me as the guy who sold it knew it was duff though!. And £100 is a LOT to pay for a 32 inch CRT, particularly a poor make like Philips!. |

Hey guys,
Its a Philips 32PW9576 It did work after a 4 hour cold reset, so I left it on standby for once and it did the same after I turned it on. It is not too old and looks top of the range, it was an old lady who sold it down the next street to me aswell. Any advice, cheers. Oh and peterco, how do you deactivate the child lock? |

Well, its back on after i have unplugged it for 20 mins (gutted as I d/l a tv show to watch, but had to watch it on my MASSIVE 15" PC screen ha ha)
Could this be a problem with the power supply or a capacitor?? Many thanks |

A stupid question but!
Are you pressing the P+ button to come out of standby not the power button. |
