RDR-HXD 770/870/970/1070. A-B editing and playlist.
I thought these models were an improvement on the RDR-HXD 860 but what has happened to the A-B editing on DVD+? Further, the creation of a playlist on the HDD has also gone missing. Sony gave some feature improvements when they introduced the 860 but they have taken them away on the newer models.
Sony seem to be a little bit shy of introducing a "does it all" version. Could it be a reason for the slightly lower selling prices? However, we do have the mp3 "juke box" feature which was not on the 860. Alternatively, in the next month or so, will Sony announce the arrival of yet more DVD recorders with built in hard drives? Has anyone heard any news regarding this? |

Further to my post above, I found the RDR-HXD 1065 available at the Sony Centre, Fareham at a knock down price.
I didn't fancy paying £500+ for the newer RDR-HXD 1070 which has less to offer regarding editing features and can't create a playlist on the HDD. Shame on you, Sony! Why do you behave like this? |
