I am looking at buying a cantilever type stand for a 32" LCD screen and I wondered if anybody as experience of what's good what's not. I have an early preference for an Alphason. Thanks.

I wouldn't be very happy with an LCD on top of a stand like that, it's too top heavy - I've used them for the Sky box, surround amp etc. with the TV wall mounted above.

I've got that stand, it was a bit of a pain to put together, and I was a bit concerned that the screen mount didnt appear very strong - but its been up for almost a year now.

The only thing I'd say against it is that the screen comes quite far forwards (due to the wierd mounting system) and its rather large! On reflection I should have kept nagging the missus into letting me wall mount it.

I can probably take some photos if it would be of any help?

:EDIT:
Oh and there is enough room on the shelf to have equipment side by side (which was a requirement for me - even with that I have the XBox and Sky box on the floor!)

Try this one i have it and it looks good. My tv is 37" and is very stable on this stand, found it very easy to put together plenty space for side by side if needed.

What I didn't say was that the tv in question is a Panasonic TX-32LXD70 and getting bracket that fits is difficult. Does anyone know of a compatible stand?
