I loved this show ! I went to see it with my Mum, my Auntie and my two little boys (7 and 8 years old). It was fantastic and all of us came out on a high - we chatted about it all the way home on the train.

I was forewarned about the little blonde dancer and yes, she is in a rhythm of her own (or so it seems) but still good.

I might be niaive, but I really felt that the cast were enjoying themselves too and not just the audience. There were lots of school parties in the theatre and at the end lots of them were down in front of the stage dancing and singing along with the cast - there was even a grandma waving a scarf ! It was very "feelgood" and I immediately wanted to book to see it again. I admit to even wanting to go and hound the stage door but the train timetable dictated that we make a quick exit.

Keith was fantastic although his clipped English accent slightly bemused me but I understand why he has done this - good on him, he has a lovely voice. I think Craig is just lovely and has a sweet voice which was perfect for Joseph, he looked good in his loincloth and I would definitely fall for him if I was 15 again !

If anyone is wondering whether to book for this show then don't hesitate, it was fab.

A quick question, are the kids choirs from local drama schools and how do they get the time off ?

Re the choirs

I know that when the show reaches Southend they will be using some of the children that have been in auditions for the West End choir and also, hopefully, audition some local children too.

My daughters are with a local agency that put lots of children forward for this sort of thing.

They have to be licenced through the local authority education department - and can only perform for a limited amount of hours. They also have to have the permission of their Headteacher too.

so the choir is a local one everytime the tour changes venue, in other words it isn't a choir that tours with them ?

Fingers crossed my daughter(s) get in - will not know until
9th March.

The shows I went to at the start of the tour all used drama schools, with two teams from each sharing the dates.

The children singing in Bath in August were the same ones they used in Bristol in November

I thought I'd bring this up the page a bit so anyone who's been to see the show recently can post a review.

Does anyone know if the boys appear at the stage door between the 5pm and 8pm performances on a Friday? I would love to meet them and get my Dream On CD signed & wondering if I need to catch them on the way in!

Hi Everyone,

i totally agree with all the good reviews about the tour. I went to see the tour on Tuesday 11th march at the Ipswich Regent and each one of them had an outstanding performance. i must admit i didnt recognise antony until the last 15 minutes of the show after looking at him thousands of times it finally clicked despite watching the tv programmes. Even the guy from Grease Wayne Smith was great as Pharoh. My fav performance of the night had to be Chris Barton's as i was just impressed with his acting.

It's a shame it almost sold out n that the left over tickets were all at the back otherwise i wouldn't have hesitated in going a second time in a week.

He looks a lot older! He's got a beard and longer hair, now. There's a few pictures in his thread, if you want to have a look.
He does look very different!

Hello

A Lee/Ben/Daniel fan here who is keen to see the Joseph touring production when it comes to Bournemouth in August. Unfortunately I have completely lost track of which of those from ADWD will be in it by then. I don't want to book only to find that all of them will have left by then! Could some kind person enlighten me please?

BTW - hope all is going well with the tour and that all those that have gone to see it have enjoyed it

I went and saw this a while back in Worthing and personally found Keith to be ten times better than Craig.

Craigs accent was still there, whilst Keith has clearly been trying to remove it, also Keiths singing was better. Though they were both very good, Keith was better and i wonder how it would have been with him as Joseph.

The real star though is that blonde haired dancer! She is crazy!!

It was definitely £20 well spent.

The finale was also excellent.

Hi everyone.

I want to catch this when it comes to manchester in a few weeks. Without reading the whole thread, are craig, keith and chris still touring with it?

Do any of them have regular shows they take off or is it hit and miss whether they will be on?

thanks!

Hi, yes Chris, Keith and Craig are all still there together with young Antony - Chris and Keith are both leaving on 10th May

Craig usually misses the Weds mat and Sat 2pm (Chris covers Joseph at those shows) and Keith misses the Thurs mat and Sat 5pm with Chris taking over as narrator for those two performances

I'm just back from the Stoke matinee This is an abridged version of the review I posted on the Lewis site.

I travelled to the theatre separately from my family because I went straight from work. I was loitering in the street opposite the stage door, thinking I was a bit late to catch the boys going in, and talking to my mum on the phone about parking etc...a movement in an upstairs window caught my eye...for about half a second I saw a topless Keith looking out

We were a little sceptical about a male narrator but it did seem to work. I think Keith has improved as a performer but I felt he sang a lot of his songs a little staccato, without any of his own interpretation/rhythm. However, when he sang the beginning of A Pharaoh Story ("Strange as it seems...") he really came into his own; it's just a shame we didn't see more of that.

With regard to Craig, he was my joint 3rd (with Antony) in ADWD, I quite liked him as a performer. At the beginning of the show I was a bit it's not Lewis but I was hugely impressed by his performance. His Close Every Door was 100 times better than on Dream On (and I liked that one!) and he pulled off the comedy moments superbly. Might I add that he looked surprisingly yummy in his loincloth

I thought Chris B made a good Benjamin and Antony was great too...just a shame he didn't get any solos like some brothers did

I thought the megamix was brilliant...was one of the first up and dancing!

Afterwards, I asked an usher if the boys would be at the stage door, they said probably not cos it was less than an hour to the next show, but he said to go and ask there, cos they might slip out to get food. I walked straight past Chris in the street - turned to run after him then got scared of missing Craig & Antony so let him go When we got to SD Keith was outside and he signed my programme before rushing off. Antony appeared but by the time I got my CD out he had gone Then Craig came through the door, he was friendly and patient with autographs and photos but only up to a point cos he was in such a hurry. He signed our programme and my CD insert but didn't get a photo with him.

All in all, I would say it's not to be missed and if anyone, like maybe Chris C, is still in by June 09 I will go again to Buxton
