Well I've just got home, and it was absolutely fantastic!

Craig was Joseph, Keith the narrator, Chris was Benjamin and Antony was one of the brothers. I had such a brilliant afternoon! The choir came from a Theatre School in Chester, and they were so professional, despite their young ages.

The whole show is so feelgood, everyone had a big smile on their face when they left the theatre.

strjkn, whereabouts are you sitting on Thursday? We were in the front row of the circle, right in the middle, and it does feel as though they're all singing just for you!

We went to Southend last week and saw Craig as Joseph; Keith as Narrator & Chris as Benjamin.

What can I say that hasn't been said already?

Have been to several West End shows over the last few years, but none (with exception of Bombay Dreams) have been the fun 'Joseph' was. It was GREAT FANTASTIC MARVELLOUS!

Downside: It was only on for 1 week before going up North, otherwise I would have bought tickets to see it again.

A full house always creates a special atmosphere, and last night was no exception.The theatre was buzzing before the show started.
Tara walked on with the children and was welcomed with a cheer. I had wondered how she would fare as the narrator, but I should have had no worries, she is really good, imo much better than Jenna in WE Joe, she has a warmth to her voice, and she has a very expressive face, which worked really well with Craig's Joseph.
Craig started to sing, & I was worried about his voice as at first he seemed to be holding something back but then wow wow wow. the big powerful songs, were that, big powerful songs , his voice is now truly amazing,
The sheep of course misbehaved, and the brothers seemed to be having a ball, especially, I must say Wayne. They all seemed to give so much more than the last time. The dancing just full of enthusiasm and fun.
The angel had children laughing of course, that is such a good touch.
Wayne was even better as Pharoah, than I remember, and Craig mimicing him brought the house down, fantastic stuff.
I remember Craig saying once, about acting , that he hadn't pulled the right faces yet.
Well, last night, there were no pulled faces, he acted his socks off (literally!!!!) his confidence now has to be seen to be believed.
I still get goosebumps at "its me".
I was sat in the second row of the stalls right at the centre,last time I had to sit front row dress circle, stalls are better, I could see more of the facial expressions and more of the whole cast. and dare I say it, with his growth of confidence ,Craig no longer keeps tugging at the loincloth for modesty
(shall I say they would have matched the black kilt)
The megamix was appreciated by the whole audience who were up on their feet, apart from the row in front and some at the side of mee, so I felt as if the cast could see me alone.
The curtain went up 3 times I think, but it wasn't the audience who thought that was enough.

I'm sure I have missed something if so I will fill in the gaps later.

Any news of who is playing who in Derby next week?? I'm going on Monday eve. From the reviews on here it sounds like we're in for a treat.

No cast list exists here - will try to compile one of those I know - check tomorrow for details.

Have just bought tickets for Bristol - January 2009!

Have booked for the Thursday night, so hopefully Craig will be playing Joseph. Saw it 3 times in Bath and once in Bristol last year - loved it!

Ant took over the mantle of Joseph, fully on Thursday. So his last Pharaoh was Wednesday night. He said he woke up Thursday and though ‘Oh no, she’s missed it’. Bless him.

Ali did the first show, and put in a top notch performance. I did have a tear or two when he sings to Jacob, his voice wobbled, and Tara and Maria were gone... David played Jacob and was great I love his interpretation, his Potiphar is so so funny. Ryan was playing 3 brothers, so we got a glimpse of the new swing... and obviously WAYNE was back – woo hoo !! Dodgy wig action though lol...

Obviously, under the circumstances, the 5pm show was never gonna be the usual blood bath of jokes and cock ups, I’ve come to expect from a leaving cast, but it did have some wonderful highlights.

Antony’s Joseph was amazing, he’s had a haircut, and he’s looking all fresh faced, beautiful boy.... Anyway, he was truly fantastic, fills the part very well... ahem! LOL!

His ‘Close Every Door’ gave me goosebumps, and I’ll admit to maybe shedding another tear or two , first time I’ve done that then, in 4 years – he called me a ‘cry baby!! Cheek!!

David played Jacob again, and gave Potiphar a Frank Spencer accent – too too funny, and then during the megamix, he (still dressed as old Jacob) is bouncing around the top of the stage with Eve – HILARIOUS!!!

Dean and Guy were a little bit rough with Ant for my liking, they’ve bruised his arms!

Wayne’s Pharaoh is great, so chuffed to see him, back... looking a little skinny, but his arse is great in that suit!!! Simon successfully put me off and made me giggle in the 2pm before Wayne’s entrance, I was feeling more composed for the 5! Or so I thought... I survived the ‘Oh yeah’ line, and shook my head to say no, and then Simon rolled his hips, and I was off!

Ant asked what I thought, and I said it was weird. Wayne’s fab and everything, but his wiggles are different, and he doesn’t blow me kisses! Wayne meanwhile is laughing to himself! Ant goes, I’ll teach him LOL!!

And so the 8pm. I may have been a little drunk! Generally it was fairly uneventful. Wayne was struggling with his voice, so added more ‘crazys’ and didn’t do the big note at the end, but still fabulous. When Ant did his ‘Pharaoh Man’ he added a proper wiggle, LOL – can’t possible imagine who that was for! – Wicked!

Guy started to crack in Canaan Days, so by Joseph Joseph and the big reveal, it was hard. I didn’t see a lot of Ant singing to Jacob, I was gone ... it’s too hard, watching and hearing them cry, I did manage to pull it together for the megamix.

I can’t remember when, but the lady next to Annabel snorted, so cue fits of giggles – for which I got the blame for from various cast members!

Simon reckons I was more drunk than in Blackpool, cos my eyes were going in different directions. Although this was nothing compared to how Annabel finished the evening! And I didn’t have a hangover – so bonus!

The Sunday matinee – and without any planning, was sat next to Alison, Alex and Laura. Tracey had the other end.

There were a few teething problems with the new cast, but I would say nothing major. They are young! The new Benjamin and alternate Joseph, Sam, is a sweetie, his Benjamin Calypso was really good, and very comical, I hope they keep it – talk about bigging up your part! Asher has got devilishly model like looks, and the new swing was a bit dishy too – nice tat – and impeccable taste in clothing!

It’s still very weird not to be sat in the middle, or Pharaoh’s side, but I did get a wink when he kneels with Joseph. I don’t know what it is about that role that sends me giddy, or getting a wink from the stage. I’m sure if either of them winked at me at stage door, it wouldn’t have the same effect.

I can’t wait to see the show again, and it’s not long until Liverpool.

If you can catch Antony, I don't think you'll be disappointed!

Simon did the 'lump' in One More Angel, for both the 2 and 5pm shows. He did look a little bit simple , and his accent was really funny, he had to hide behind his hat to stop him giggling at Annabel and I... it was a little bit of a shock.. by the 5pm I'd like to say we were a bit more composed...
