I was on my Nintendo Wii playing boxing and I err... hit the screen with quite some force. The remote itself has chipped where it hit the screen and there is now a big mark on the screen itself, which is an LCD screen.

I think that maybe the plastic of the remote chipped and then the resulting dust smeared down the screen like that, and it is possible to see through the mark when watching TV normally. I am not actually sure whether the screen is damaged or if the mark can be cleaned off.

What would be the best thing for me to do (aside insurance claim)?

Thanks

Wow looks like the tv has quite a few chips in it.. or is that dust? lol

Well id try rubbing it off to see if it is chipped first (nothing to lose) and if it is, claim on insurance? Its the only possible thing to do really i would have thought?

That's just dust, I took a very close-up picture.

I've only had it 5 months or so

First time it's ever happened, I've had my Wii since 15th December. Then again, I only stand about 1 metre from the TV
