I think this proves the point that even big players like Carphone Warehouse get this seriously wrong.

Even if you accept that they made a mistake, to make the customers jump through hoops to sort it out, just proves that these cashback schemes are too good to be true.
But they don't make customers jump though hoops. They even have a dedicated cash back helpline (which is answered extremely quickly) with the advisors telling you exactly what bills to send through. How is that making you jump through hoops? Jeez, there's even an online cashback calculator / download in your account area.

I think its a bit bizarre to write off that link without reading it. E2SAVE actually post in the forum linked to.
8 pages of posts. I do like reading, but I do find that a bit too much. So not that bizarre really. Talking like an expert about something that you have no exeprience of, now that's bizarre.....

If you had read that link you would know that e2save, said that they had unintentionally mislead customers as to which bills to send. However instead of simply sending out the cashback that people were entitled to they made the customer's re submit their bills for a second time. Even though they had already acknowledged that the bills had been received.

But they still paid them and admitted thier mistake. Surely that is a sign of a reputable company?

It begs the question ,what about people who had claims rejected that didn't post on ML MSE ?

Did they all get their rejected refunds credited

Surely that is a sign of a reputable company if they ALL got refunded which I doubt they did

No idea. I don't have access to their info, do you? Perhaps you can post some facts instead of supposition.

Sorry, but it only contains one point of view. These are not facts. Facts are only facts when they are proven. You may be rested, but your case is not.

It contains 2 viewpoints , the dusgruntled customers and the supplier who failed and is still failing them whilst accepting their failures

Please can you tell me why I have had successful (3 off) claims, along with many others and some don't? I cannot see any logic behind it. Or am I (and others) just extremely lucky?

ps I've never won the lottery

Why not contact some of the posters on the thread and ask them , there seems quite a few and E2save openly acknowledge a problem with confusing wording

After feedback from our customers we recognise the words “3rd bill” and 6th bill” in our acknowledgment email is causing confusion and in a few cases causing the claim to reject due to “a late bill”.

If you have submitted a claim for the “Virgin sim only 6 month cashback offer and your claim has been rejected as a late bill please call our cashback team on 0871 522 3403 where one of the team will manually check your claim.

Already stated that. They are trying to correct their mistakes by implementing new procedures and staff changes (I know this is fact because I have had personal communication with the MD and his SM team). How does that make them bad? Surely the fact (evidenced by both of us) that they are trying to improve makes them a good company.

ps And they also have a Royal Warrant

pps Must check to see if the Queen has posted anywhere

I would have thought that most cash-back deals are a form of pyramid selling. This is because the only way the company that operates the scheme can keep going is to keep recruiting new customers, so that their money can pay back the cash of others who joined at an earlier date.. Eventually they are going to run out of money or new customers.

I pesonally know somebody that worked at Mobile Connexions in Birmingham for about 3 months on their telephones. They only had about 3 employees, him being one of them, who were not family or very close friends. He said that they purposely ignored about 50% of the cashback claims, but then if the customer complained they would process it, but quite a few people didnt even complain or notice that their cashback had not been processed. He personally saw the post and letters they were constantly getting from Trading Standards and similar companies, and they used to be left around in the backrooms. Also, he said that they were spending large amounts of money on expensive cars (most had ferraris, porches, etc). I dont know exactly how they were doing it or how you file for bankruptcy, but I guess they spent a whole load of the money on cars and houses, and then claimed the business couldnt pay the customers back their cashback, so closed down. They also changed their name a series of times, they have changed between 'Mobile Connexions', 'Mobile Communications' and 'DialAMobile'. Extremely dodgy, cant believe I was even thinking of getting a contract with them just because he could get discount as he worked for them!

EDIT: Just found this:

We had a similar problem with Phone Nation in Leicester.
These guys got greedy and instead of buying air time from Orange direct they went and purchased subsidised air time from dial-a-mobile and left us all in the lurch.

I was hoping they would honour the contracts but they keep fobbing us off with lies, I wouldn't be surprised if they are in collaboration with the guys from dial-a-mobile.

The whole telecoms industry has been shaken to the core.
I watch the "Real Hustle" and this is exactly what 90,000 of us has had done to them. I hope the people who did this can sleep at night without any worries including Phone Nation.

I'm not asking for sympathy more like Phone Nation keeping their end of the bargain up.

You are aware that three use Orange for backup coverage? so when you're not in 3g, you get Orange at no extra cost for calls or data.
when did they switch from o2?

I took out a phone contract from Phone Nation in Leicester who are supposed to be authorised network dealers. I got a contract with the Orange network, but what Phone Nation did not bother to mention to me was that they weren’t taking the contract from Orange directly, they were going through dial-a-mobile. I only found out AFTER the company went "bust" - i.e. robbed all its customers of their money.

So Phone Nation basically robbed and greedily scammed all its customers into this deal in order for them to obtain their commission so they could drive around in their Mercedes and BMW’s while we are now faced with paying high line rental charges to Orange.

AND to top it all off, the guy that works at Phone Nation called me and said in order for them to keep paying me my cash back I return my phone and SIM - What’s all that about!!!!!!

I am really angry with Phone Nation, as I am sure other people are who took out this contract with them. I hope they go bust as they are only out for themselves! I wouldn't recommend anyone to shop with them...they are such losers!

The directors have just started a new company at the same registered address as Phone Nation, so they 'may' need your phone for their next enterprise.
