Michael2

If they'd listen to Jon they'd win this task easily. I cant understand why they are so against it, its so obviously the best way.

Why is it the best way?

I'm not saying it's not but just interested in why people think so.

I'm beginning to think that DS has turned into the cult of Jon Tickle - is there another way?!

well considering jons parents are music teachers i would think he would know the best way more than any of them.

jon was trying to give them a way that would be easier and quicker way of learning it and it got shoved back in his face

Jon's way is the easiest way. Cam plays the piano doesn't he?
Surely some of the others play as well ?
The only thing I can think of is they are self taught and never had a music lesson?
If they pass this task it will be by luck !!

Jon's parents arent music teachers. His dad is a maths teacher. He said that his parents were teachers and he knew music.

the brain can remember sequences much more easily if there is a rhythm to them. Thats why at primary school, youll find a lot of rhythmic methods to teach the kids.
For eg when I was at primary school(a while ago now!) we had to learn our times tables. This was also done by having a strong rhythm to the 'chanting' of the tables. It's ,in fact , hard to do it any other way!, and the hm's will have great difficulty if they try any other method.

On R:ISE this morning Iain was saying that when the HM's were arguing about learning methods Sissy said to give Jons way a go but apparently they didn't like it and thought it was crap.

I'm a musician and a teacher myself and I have to say that Jon is spot on with this one.

Cam is an arse though for not backing Jon up (too busy protecting himself imo).

..sissy - well what do you expect - easily led!!

I think I hate all the housemates now - apart from King Jon of course.

I was just beginning to feel a little bit sorry for the housemates foodwise, but if they can't overcome there general dislike of Jon for a moment and realise he is trying to help them win this task, then I flaming well hope they lose the task.

If Jon goes Friday, at least he will get a decent meal.

I think they got as far as the number 5 or 6 before giving up and calling it crap ........... like they really tried it??

All they did was mess about. They were determined to prove him wrong, even though he is right.
Fail the blooming thing I say. They deserve to after such negative attitudes to Jon trying to help.

As a teacher you usually have two subjects, a main subject and usually a secondary subject to teach pupils. I suspect that teaching music is their secondary subject.
