There has been loads of nomination talk.............

Who in your opinion will be the one to complain??

at the moment for me no one.............. not one of them seems to have the character to stand up and be counted..........

As for it being more intellectually stimulating, that is total rubbish. The only intellectually stimulating part is the geekdom inhabited by Jon, the rest of them fade into total insignificance. As you can see from this forum Jon is very popular, also his saviour from eviction goes to prove that. So suggesting that people just don't get it is tripe.”

It's still a darn sight more stimulating than anything in BB3. Low attention span TV at its worst.

I'm not in the least bit interested in ratings. People are still voting in the evictions. BB started out as a small-scale cult curiosity show. I wouldn't be bothered if it went back to being that way.

I disagree that Jon is the only intellectually stimulating part of BB - if you look at what I said previously you'll see that I'm talking about the interactions between the housemates etc. Not necessarily that the housemates are intellectual (as some quite clearly are not particularly).

I haven't seen BBLB at all this series, mainly because I'm not usually home by the time it's on, if Channel 4 are struggling to meet all the programmes that they've scheduled - that's their problem and not mine. I don't need to watch all the shows that are on, and that's my choice

I am quite prepared to sit and listen to some intellectual conversation - there isn't any thats the point! There is no in your face enetertainment there are no great debates. You haev a house of people who agree with each other and bond far too well to make it interesting.”

Ah, but the thing is that they don't all agree with each other as much as they'd have us believe. They're not all 'bestest buddies' and with any luck we'll start to see more cracks appearing as they are.

Incidentally, I've seen complaints about BB not being tough enough... Well they seem to be being tougher this year than they were last year, and that is, IMO, a good thing...

Of course I agree with you, if it achieved cult status as it was (albeit very briefly) then fine - no problem with that.

What I do have a problem with is unimaginative, unpalettable tripe that is filling our screens at the moment.

You seem to be pinning all your intellectual hope on Jon providing the stimulation for your follicles! If there were a house full of interesting people who talked about a whole range of subjects who had opposing views then fine! So far all we have seen is Jon telling stories without any interjection from other housemates. Even when we think a good debate is about to start they ruin it by playing the group 'lets all get along nicely' card.

I'm sure we've all guessed at what we think Jon is about (I presuem we can never truly know) but as for all the others - what do we know about them so far? Practically nothing.
We know all the trivial information - married/kids etc but we don't know what makes these people tick. If we cannot pigeon hole these people or if we aren't provided with amunition to be able to pigeon hole people then the expectation of what they might say will be gone. Imagine if Jon just once and only once mentioned star wars - we wouldn't expect it and it would not be half as funny or interesting.

We need more from these people - they just are not earning their keep at the moment.

I find it interesting that La La has to start a new "BB4 is crap" thread every time his/her old one disappears off of the first page. Seriously there are enough could you just post in one of them and bump it to the top instead of wasting valuable server space by cramming it up with your moaning.

True they have agreed well and too much recently for any real arguments to ensue. Whether that makes it less interesting or not is a whole other discussion, so I'll leave that for now.

However, I think you would be blind to deny the fact that BB4 is certainly beginning to stretch its legs. I can envision a fair amount of anonymity occurring from now on. Everybody can see the cracks, and hopefully they'll pass the task this week and get some food and alcohol, because we all know what that will be the catalyst for!

No I'm not. Jon's predominance is intellectual certainly but I admire him for his rather clumsy way of getting to grips with emotions. I thought Jon's best moment was surviving eviction on Friday. He genuinely couldn't understand why the public might like him.

Basically BB4 works for me as an exercise in doublethink. Many of the housemates - Scott, Tania, Steph, Cameron, Federico, Sissy, Nush - interest me because of what they don't reveal as opposed to what they do.

I'm enjoying it this year, more so than last year, and that's probably because of the mix of people in there. Last year was probably more instant entertainment, this year is more, dare I say it, intellectually interesting - you need to think a little about what you're watching - see them playing off against each other etc. ”

Yeah but you are completely in the minority - Big Brother i hate to say it isn't the most intellectually stimulating show and the C4 audience at 10pm weekdays aren't exactly all mastermind contestants. Lets face it - a lot of them are just waiting for Graham Norton to start ! Big Brothers target audience over the years has been the kind of people who want instant entertainment - this year the network has wanted a high brow approach to pull in wealthier advertisers but the change has been too dramatic and they've managed to keep most of the old audience watching out of habit but haven't gained the people who they want.

It simply isn't enough to depend on people watching out of habit. There certainly ARE things the producers and editors could do to this show to spice it up without completely changing it and i would guess things are getting pretty heated up at Elstree right now as to what they can do to it because somehow they gotta get 7 more weeks out of these lot.

I personally think I know/understand that feelin ur talking about and truth is, maybe Ive 'outgrown' BB./or bored of it now....in that after 3 runs, this one seems so uninteresting and the characters feel waaaaaaay too normal to me to help decide on who I feel 'really' should win.....because the pple in there right now, its like giving £70,000 to yer neighbour.............well I dunno.........

*goes back to bed*
