Fed's growing on me!

Compared to the two-faced antics of Nush and Cameron, the downright bullying and backstabbing of Steph/Sissy towards Jon, I must say that I'm warming to Fed (and ray for that matter). Alright, he didn't own up to the second failure, but it must have been a difficult decision,; he also must know that he has been seen as an utter plank 2 times by an audience of millions. At least he's not been acting so appallingly as the coven (no ther word for it) or trying to be 'Mr I'm so non-threatening that any woman can confide in me or even take their clothes off'

Fed's now low on my hit list - there's quite a few others I'd like to shoot first.

I have liked Fed ever since he sat down in the nomination room and nominated Justine, because she tried to steer Fed away from liking Jon. He showed that although he's not a complete saint he's pretty honest and although he didn't tell the others outright that he fecked up task 2 I think you could tell he was wrestling inwardly about failing. The boy is a fool so he screwed up on the second task but he did what most of us would have done if we are being honest and not told . If it had been me I know i wouldn't have told but then again i wouldn't have bothered with the guilt trip he's put himself through .

He was growing on me slightly at times but unfortunately.......

Fed will always let his supporters down because of vanity.

In his situation though, what would you have done?

I agree and disagree, but what he did was make a tactical move, it's quite possible he will confess to his misdemeanour after he finds out if he's up for nomination. If he is up for nomination this week, then he has nothing to lose by confessing, and thus winning the sympathy vote from the viewers. If he's not nominated this week then he'll keep stumm..because he knows that his tactic has worked.
Besides this, if the group like him, then they would have forgiven him, leaving his fate in the hands of the viewers.

I think he's shown honesty quite often.

His nomination reasons were precise, ruthless, no messing, straight to the point.

He was not honest to the housemates about his task failure,...but he was very honest to us in saying he has to be realistic.....he's practically telling us he is a sitting duck come nomination day if they see him as a liability, and the reason they aren't eating well.
It's a game of survival,...he's got to know the housemates a bit,..and he does not trust them to let him off the hook.

He is acting the exact way I predicted him to,...He is thinking as I did before, that they win as a group, and they fail as a group, so there is no reason why he needs to tell anyone.
It's wishful thinking to expect that their respect for him owning up will save him from nomination day.

It's not an ideal situation to be in,..but you can't expect him to trust the other housemates,..there's nothing to presume that they are better people than he is, and that they will prove this by not taking his task failure into account when they choose their eviction nominees.

A totally honest person must be rare,...but I have seen Fed be honest, that doesn't mean he's honest all the time,...but when does that ever apply to anyone.
Because I've seen a hell of a lot of dishonesty from plenty of the other housemates.

He's definitely flawed, but I see good in him...There's others in there, that I don't rate as highly as Fed as a person.

I'd like Fed to be around for a while.

guts..would probably end up getting him evicted.

Very commendable,..but he'd be the third person out.

One thing that is notable.

They come out with this all for one, and one for all attitude with the tasks,...and say that they win as a group, and they fail as a group, but.............they were still trying to work out who failed, they still wanted to know.

If they really believed in this false sentiment of being as one unit,...they would accept that they failed, not care who failed, not want to find out who failed, and not put the pressure on the one who failed.

I don't believe in their solidarity act one bit.

Me neither, not when they are so divided as a whole.

I'm impressed with your response and will concede to most of it. I still feel it would have been better for him to come clean as it looks like they know it is him anyway. So now he risks being worse thought of by the rest of the group as a result and he still might come up for nomination.

I think he made a genuine Error on the second task but trying to pass the blame on Steph was pretty low.

I dont have any desire to see him evicted because he is entertaining me (unless v Jon) and your points on the other housemates being of a untrustywothy nature are of course valid.

Thanks,..I also concede to your view to some extent,.in that it probably would have been better to admit it.

He probably should have grit his teeth and got it out of the way. But not because he would look like a really honest chap,...but because as you say, they've got a good idea that he messed up anyway, and he didn't tell them. So he could end up getting nominated for weeks.
But on the other hand, if he did own up, he might probably only end up getting nominated for just this week.

So he's probably made a miscalculation.

He continually makes mistakes, and it makes things better when he does.

I'm going to laugh if he fails the next task.

Yes,...and that old chestnut that comes out in the nominations quite often,.. --- "I nominate housemate "X" because he isn't contributing to the group"

To be fair though, it's an easy excuse to find a reason, when someone says he/she isn't contributing to the group, they should be made to elaborate a bit more on their reason. I think you are right in saying that Federico is straight to the point on this one....and thats where his honesty lies, not in his game plan.
