Just a quick q for Tosh 32C3030D owners. Do you get an audio signal from digital optical audio out on your TV when you are watching stuff from an external source (HDMI or Component inputs?), or is it only active when viewing from the internal tuner?

Thanks, Adam.

Thanks for the response. Not working for me though. I can pull the lightpipe out of the TV and stick into my V+ box and I get audio, put it back in the TV and nothing.

I wonder if it's something to do with the settings in the DTV menu. Here you can switch between PCM / Bitstream for the digital audio out. However it won't allow me to switch it from PCM as I don't have DTV tuned in on the TV as I don't have an aerial connected.

I just contacted Tosh tech support and got a very fast reply...

"The digital audio output is from the internal digital tuner only and not from a external connection. If you have no aerial connected, or no channels tuned on the DTV side of the TV, there should be no sound coming from the optical connection."

Bummer ;-(

Because I was hoping to let the TV act as a source switcher between STB and DVD, whilst still passing the full surround encoded stream. Looks like I'll have to figure another way...
