576p is what DVDs come out at if they are played on my 360 rather than my DVD player.
I think it's the proper definition of DVDs when they are not being limited to 480 by non-upscaling DVD players or something. I'm no expert though, probably talking nonsense. |

Looks good though ![]() The 'p' just means progressive rather than 'i' interlaced. |

Well, I got there early and got one. Bloody heavy to get home (on the bus!).
First impressions: It looks fairly cheap, only to be expected I guess, but not really a problem (I may cover up the Tevion silver logo with a bit of black tape!). I was really worried when I went through the auto-setup procedure and started watching on the internal digital receiver. The picture was pretty bad and there was a very noticeable sync problem with audio and picture, ranging from small to huge, but always there. I was about to re-box it and struggle back to Aldi's when I thought about trying my old freeview box. Connected by scart, made sure the settings on box and TV were compatible, and, lo, a perfect picture and properly synced sound. I assume that they have cut costs by putting in a cheap (ie useless) digital tuner. I'm now very happy, and glad that I have a 3-year full labour and parts warranty (including a pick-up and delivery service) - that's what swung it for me in the end. |

Good /Bad
Bought this 32" model yesterday at Aldi. It is a Tevion LCD 32091D. Comes with the 3-year Warranty AND a 30 day return if it's not suitable promise. I have been watching prices for a year now and thought the £349 was very competitive especially before Christmas.
I too had lipsync problems watching the Digital Tuner, but later this cleared up. All external inputs OK. The sound is noticeably worse than my 11 year old Toshiba 28". No depth to the sound at all even with the bass and treble settings turned up. This may be a reason for me to return this TV especially if I do not get Sky+ remote to work. I wonder if this ia a feature of LCDs because of the size of the casing giving no sound resonance to the speakers? I need a code for the Sky+ remote for this telly........ I personally thought the design and build were fine and I like the bottom speakers because of width restrictions. AND its less than half the weight of my old telly! The cable connections at the rear are downwards facing which may give some users problems in tight spaces. Inserting SCART connectors is never easy but when you can't see the socket??? I like the "kettle lead" type mains connector which is removeable at the TV end. JH |

Mine works fine once I'd backed-off colour level. Default level gives grossly excessive colour. Sound is definitely thin but not a problem for me as I will mostly use my Thomson PVR as source which is connected to a decent amp and speakers. User guide poorly written. Set width is same as 28" CRT set it replaces.
At £350 with 3-year warranty (even though it has to be sent to Co Durham) it's a snip. |

Mine was returned to Aldi today. After a fresh start with it this morning, I decided the picture quality and sound were not up to standard. The out of sync. problem returned too with the internal Digital tuner. My old set sounds like Hi Fi compared to the Tevion and the picture is stable too!
There is no way that I have found of programming the Sky+ remote to operate this TV either. JH |

I wonder if this ia a feature of LCDs because of the size of the casing giving no sound resonance to the speakers? The space available is certainly an issue, but I'd say the main reason for the poor sound quality in the Aldi's is cheap components - simple as that. Having had mine for a couple of days now, I'm more or less sure I'll return it. Really garish colour which never seems right, even after fiddling with all the controls, the diabolically poor digital receiver, poor sound, cheap looking, and the picture quality is generally poor in terms of sharpness - they claim a refresh rate of 6.5ms but on action stuff whole swathes of the screen are out of focus for much of the time. |

Works fine from an external source but the dvb-t tuner suck bigtime
By default dvb-t 16:9 programs are shown as side-clipped 4:3 (pan and scanned) and there are no menu options to fix this. The only work around I have found is 1) set the aspect to 16:9, 2) tune to a radio channel with the Text overlays (e.g. a BBC Radio) and then 3) back to the 16:9 channel. I called they support line and they recommended returning to the shop and said there would be no software fix. So I called Aldi who are going to get back to me. Shame because the panel works fine, even on NTSC signals from the US |

@ adamtemp64 - Did you check your PM?
Yes I got one today from Argos with included 3-year warranty. The sound is very pleasing and so is the machine generally. The set up codes for Sky+ are 0121 or 1221 - both work and were kindly supplied by jimmy22. JH |
