It'd be much easier to just programme the new remote for your TV!

See if it is listed here

This is generally one of the most up to date sources for Remote Telecommander Codes.

You need the "blink back" method to find the code that was used on your original remote here

Identifying remote TV Remote Control Codes (Blink Back)

The following steps will allow this code to be identified.

1. Press the TV button on the Sky remote

2. Hold down Select and the Red buttons together for approximately two seconds, until the Red LED on the Sky remote blinks twice.

3. Key in 990 on the remote.

4. Key in 1 on the numeric keypad and count the number of times the Red LED blinks. The number of blinks will indicate the first digit of the code

Note that a 0 is represented by no blinks where you press the key. (My code is 081 so first time I tried it on my old Digibox remote I thought it wasn't working! And coming from a software background, I had a weird expectation that 10 blinks would be used for a 0!!!) Niall Gillespie

5. Input 2 on the numeric keypad and count the blinks to identify the second digit of the code.

6. Input 3 on the numeric keypad and count the blinks to identify the third digit of the code.

7. Write it down and keep it safely.

Far easier to find the code used on original remote by the "blink back" method - after all he had a working code on it.

Far quicker to look up the code in the aforementioned PDF and program it , in my experience.

Although it all depends on the make and model of TV.
